Of water, when i went on holiday to Lanzarote a couple of weeks back, i found myself and a couple of friends going on one of those pedalo things in the sea, we got quite far out and the water started to get darker..... some more of my friends had hired another pedalo and came up to us.....

They shouted to us and said..... " One of you swim over to here! " anyway without a chance to say anything... my mates pushed me in... It was bloody freezing! anyway i swam over real fast and ever since i hate water.... on the way back to the beach, i couldnt look into the water, i was so freaked out for some reason.... all my friends thought i'd suddenly gone insane....

Is anyone else on thes Forums afraid of Water?

I would say I dont care for water all that much. I almost drown when I was real young, therefore I don't really enjoy being under water. I don't really enjoy swimming, I dont hate it, but I dont like to be underwater where I cant control my breathing.

So yeah... I have a fear of water I guess... I have a fear of papercuts... namely on the eye... shit freaks me out!

I can't hold my breath underwater so I get extremely upset if I go underwater and cannot resurface at will (aka dunking). Also, if I'm swimming in a large lake or the ocean, I always get the feeling some big fish is about to reach up and pull me under. I usually stick to swimming pools.

I'm a water dog. I water ski and scuba dive regularly. I grew up with a pool and river in my back yard

Sober enough to know what I'm doing, drunk enough to really enjoy doing it

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy snorkeling a lot...Clearwater is def. a plus. Not being able to control breathing is whack.

I find swimming in anydept water alright the thing which really scares me is heights yet I go flying up to a max ceiling of 10,000ft w/o oxygen (any higher and i would pass out due to lack of oxygen) but once your doing something, I find that you tend not to think about how high you are or how deep the water is, the fear is where you start to think what caould happen and go wrong that is when you start getting scared.

An example of this been when I get in a plane im scared yet once im up in the air im fine especially when doing stunts such as negative G loops clovers and over various stunts you tend to concentrate on what you are doing and not how high you are.

Sorry if i derailed the thread slightly by mentioning heights.

I am afraid of water. I have never been able to swim, I have many childhood memories of being in the swimming pool and either falling in, or falling for the old "I'll catch you! ".

About 5 years ago in spain, I decided to go in the simming pool again. I was with my sister, and she said jump into the big... Circle... Floaty thing, and she would hold it. The bitch moved it away at the last moment, so I went straight in, flaied about for what seemed like a while, finally managed to grab onto an edge and pull myself up. Since then I haven't been in more than knees deep of water. And I won't.

I hate it.
