Okay so I just had one odd experience:

I'd been charging two AAA batteries and decided to put them in my laser pointer as the others were running down. I put the batteries in and press the button but nothing happens. Then I felt the back end of the laser pointer was amazingly hot, so I unscrew and take the batteries out. Then as i take the second one out it burnt my finger. So i dropped it and was like "what do I do with that?" then it started hissing and all of a sudden part of the side bursts open and liquid sprayed out, then it started smoking and caught on fire. I was having a real "WTF!!!" moment. So i grabbed a glove off the bed picked it up and dashed to the sink and poured water all over it. Was mightily odd. Anyone experienced something like this?
Or anything else really odd for that matter?

You short circuited them. It's worse when it happens in your pocket with some keys or some money. People get seriously nasty burns that way, cause they can't get them out easily.

Make sure that liquid is cleaned up well.
It's toxic.

I stupidly did that to 2 9V batteries....

I was tidying my room, found two, so clipped them together- The + to the - on both

I left them, forgot about them, came back to them, and i had left a perfectly square mark on my floor where they had got so hot

Stupid now i think about it

TIP: In the future read what I said I did, I didn't do anything dumb you fool. And try to realise I was commenting on what the other guy said about his 9V batteries, oh and don't go round as if you're the only intlligent person on theses forums, even though you do probably have one of the biggest e-egos from the looks of things

My Grandpa put two large batteries in the fire place when we were camping..

These kind..

They were from my dads fish finder, and he just put them in the bottom of the garbage bin and my grandpa put the garbage on the fire to burn it..

5 minutes later, sounded like a bomb went off.

Don't fuck with batteries.
