hey guys, just got my new laptop yesterday from rock and i connected it up to my wirelss router (wireless obviously) i checked the staus of my wirelss connection and it says good but im getting crap dl rates. i says its only connected 11mbps is that right shouldnt it be 54

anyway im looking to get a new wireless router anyway, and dont flame me saying wireless isnt for gaming i already know that but i dont wanna have a cable on ym laptop all the time. so anyone know of any good wireless routers in the UK??

Look at the Netgear DG834 Variants (I have the PN version which is very good).

Also, Dlink DIR-655 is a good gaming router (http://www.dlink.com/products/?sec=1&pid=530)

i had a look at the Netgear DG834PN and i can get it for £60 from amazon, ill have a look around but ill probably go with that cheers

previously had the DG834Gv2, also a very good router, but gave out after 3 years of service.

Its a good router, good speeds, easy to set up and very reliable.

Look out for deals that include the wireless dongle with the router (thats how i got mine).

dont need a dongle, built onto my laptop and im gonna keep my pc wired up. my laptop came yesterday and i went to charge it and there is only half the charger lol so i gotta wait till tomorrow to get everything running on it. apart from that im pretty chuffed

my modem doesn't have a built in router. i do have a router wid wireless access point but
i don't know to install and configure it. does anyone knows how? please PM me or post a message if u know. by the way my router is Hamlet. i'll really appreciate your help. tnx in advance.
