SWEET!!! Thanks. Could I use that program you used?
here you go
Would an additional 2 gigs of memory significantly increase my PSU usage? DDR-400. (Would it be okay to have an 8800GTX and an additional two gigs of memory - 4 total)
Yea it would be ok but unless you are a multi tasking junkie its not 100% necessary at the moment. If you have vista ultimate with all the flashy stuff then yes highly recommended but it never hurts to prepare for the future.

Exactly, but my PSU would be okay with an 8800GTX and 4 gigs of memory for the future (this summer maybe)

ram needs next to no power. Even with an additional 2 sticks you are still well within the max power supplied by the psu
once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

I think it's somewhere around the 1W per stick mark for DDR400 (670mW for 266). DDR2 uses less.

Here is my 2 cents. I would stick with the GTS. You will not see a noticalbe deference between the cards. If you are not running SLI I would just buy a second GTS and Call it good until they get DX10 out and everyone realizes ooooooooops we didn't optimize for this DX Function. Also you may want to look at a Physics Card. See this Article PCUser.com.  Now Keep in Mind "Games don’t yet make use of it in a practical sense, although some upcoming games will be able to do so. " From atricle above. Now this card would not only help you with gaming, but it will also help with Video editing and compiling of Video.

Actually, I work for my stuff... But I'm going to go with the 2900XT

Eh, I made my decision; again... 2900XT, thanks though.

Forget physics cards. You'd be better off with another GTS in SLI for physics.

That article is old. the technologies they talk about nvidia and ATI experimenting with are already hitting the market - the 8800GTS incorporates additional physics processing hardware (CUDA - it's ). ATIs solutions look good too. I don't know how long we'll be seeing separate physics cards around for.

Can you inform me on what physics and SLI are?

http://www.tcmagazine.com/comments.php?shownews=14574

They should launch in May sometime.

Er, uhm. which would be better than, the 2900XT right?
Also, the fucken 8800GTS is huge, I don't think two would be the solution (Power consumption and space = HEAT)

Are you serious?

SLI is Scalable Link Interface. It is Nvidias multi GPU solution.

Physics, well that's a branch of science dealing with the laws of the universe. In this context it is to do with CPU physics calculations within games, which can sometimes, these days, be offloaded onto a seperate physics card or processed in parallel by one or more GPUs.

Yeah, might be quite big and use more power than you have. I was just pointing out it's probably a better solution for physics.

2x8800GTS (640MB) in SLi is faster (and costs about the same price) as 1x8800GTX

Okay, thanks... I think I'm going to wait for the 2900XT's Or 8800 Ultra... reason for switching to a new one: I'm going to be getting a 24" wide screen HD-LCD monitor... And I need a more powerful graphics card... Plus I want good FPS on Titan and while using FRAPS...
