--Ok first of all, some people are going to tell me it should be in junk drawer... but i don't just post the video.

As most of you know the whole gun possession debate is brought back with events at Virginia Tech. And i just saw this video :
Gunshots fired at G-Unit Music Video Shoot

After that i was just shocked of the whole event... 1st thing is that the kind of music these guys make don't make sens for me because its all about Hatin other, diss on raper, and Gangsta shit, gangsta-unit, gangsta life ... whatever. I don't have any problems with any music you want to do, but why the whole gangsta image? and the raper ''war'' i mean common...

An other thing i've noticed; the reaction of the raper or producer IDK, when he comment at the end.. He is like : that was a good shot niggas, you ain't got me, you know wha' sayin, you *** hater are pussy... and so on. The guys almost got shot and they where all on the floor ( noticed the little girl running?) and could've get shot but he continue to have his ''image''...

Anyway, enough writings, discuss, give opinions and i'll try to follow and give mine.

noticed some weird sentences?? that's because I'm french and its the damn weekend! so .. well that's it!

I really hate "gangsta" rap, partly because the rappers have $10 million houses and drive Lamborghinis, and partly because the lyrics are just stupid.

Good rap or hip-hop should have a point, not just "I wuz a poor nigga and shot some foolz who tried to jack my six fo's stereo!".

Oh and pop shit like Fergie is just terrible. At least gangsta rap tends to have a beat you can live with.

edit: Your English isn't bad seb, I know lots of people in the US and UK (on the internet) who type FAR worse than that.

edit2: I've always concluded that the majority of thefts, rapes, and small murders are mostly done by blacks and hispanics while really bad things like raping kids, kidnappings, mass murder, and serial killings (think Unabomber or Timothy McVeigh or Elizabeth Smart's captor) are mostly whites.. Asians are wildcards.

LOL. You should check out Rodeo Drive and Beverly Hills these days. Flooded with rappers. Laugh riot watching the reaction of the "old money".

What I don't get is P-Diddy. Nice compositions and all, but totally unoriginal. He steals from The Police to reach stardom. Now he's stealing Prince's style.

BTW, I prefer Fergie when she's with the Black-Eyed Peas.

It is the image these "gangster" millionaire rappers paint that sells records. Originally Hip-hop was designed for an audience of people living in tough conditions. It has now developed to include every other class despite the hypocrisy.

I disagree. In the media in the UK and Switzerland, and France, I have noticed that when a white person commits a crime, it is mentioned that he was white. When, however, a black person committed the crime, no specifications are given because of fear of offending someone. It's a double standard.
Anyways, I don't like the gangster image either, but hey, I guess they want to be 'cool'.
