I recently got a second screen, and now when I press PrtScr in BF2 it takes a screenie of my secondary screen (even though BF2 is running fullscreen on my primary) and puts that into the BF2 screenshot folder. Anyone know how I can fix this?

Both screens are plugged into my Sapphire x1950 PRO.
I'm running windows XP SP2, and ATI Catalyst Control Center.

The same thing happens when I'm not in BF2. If I'm using a window on screen 1 (the one that my task bar is on and that BF2 opens on) and press PrtScr, then paste to Paint, I get a nice picture of screen 2.

That's confusing, weird actually.

Maybe unplug your monitors, and plug them in primary first, secondary second.
That way the computer recognizes the primary right away, and tends to use that one the most.

My main screen is definately the primary screen, AKA sceen 1. The identify buttons in both Catalyst and the display scection of control panel both put a big '1' on my main screen and a big '2' on my other sceen.

Dunno why it does that but you might find UltraMon usefull now you have a second screen.

You can enable/disable your second monitor with a keyboard shortcut. Which i do just before i start up bf2.

I don't really want to disable the second monitor while I play because I use it to see what's going on in TS, and sometimes to monitor temps. I might disable it and see if my screenies work again though.

I thought about trying fraps, but wouldn't that fill up my HDD? Or can you use fraps to just take screen shots instead of recording everything (I've never used it)?

It does both (F12 for video, F11 for screenie).

They say the computer doesn't take a huge turd when you hit F11, because it only does a JPEG, and BF2's code sucks anus. All fullscreen, no watermark.

OK guys. I disabled and re-enabled my secondary screen and now screenshots work fine.

But it's getting even more confusing; when I press PrtScr in BF2 (which is on screen 1) I get a BF2 screenshot in the screenshot folder, but if I press PrtScr when I'm not in BF2 but still on screen 1, and paste to Paint, I still get the picture of screen 2... curiouser and curiouser...

Anyway, BF2 screenies work, and if I want to print screen something else I'll have to move it to my other screen. That'll do.

Thanks to all who posted above. Karma for all ! (YAY!)

whenever your not in a full-screen app, when you hit prtscrn it should take a SS of both monitors' displays...

Swapping cables is sometimes an easy fix, also (a to b, b to a).
