Why does there always have to be an underlying reason or fault why someone did something bad (i.e. I was picked on as a kid at school, I was picked last all the time in sports, or mommy and daddy didn't hug me enough)?  Why can't people just be crazy?  Why is it always someone else's fault?  First it was rock music.  Then it was rap music.  Now it is movies and video games.  Maybe if parents sat down with their kids and actually "parented" we wouldn't have these issues.

Nobody wants to accept responsibility.  Just a big old blame game.  Kind of like this forum actually.

The blame game, and lack of people taking responsibility for their actions has always been one my biggest gripes.  Especially when you see some of these court cases in the news.

In regards to Cho, that guys words are not the words of somebody who could be helped in anyway.

Some people are just wired wrong, and its sad nobody picked up on it in any manner that would have been used to institutionalize him. Or euthanize him.

I think a lot of this analysis is just part of the effort to get the ad money. Honestly, if someone ran a story about a man named "Cho" who has the potential to kill a bunch people, who would tune in? Dr. Phil is no less a whore.

If parents started taking thier belts off again and whipping the shit out of thier spoiled ass kids, psychos wouldn't be shooting up schools.

Just my opinion of course.

BTW Dr Phil is a moron. I wish I could be a tv psychologists without a degree of any sorts.

“The problem is we are programming these people as a society. You cannot tell me - common sense tells you - that if these people are playing video games where they’re on a mass killing spree in a video game, it’s glamorized on the big screen, it’s become part of the fiber of our society. You take that and mix it with a psychopath, a sociopath, or someone suffering from mental illness, add in a dose of rage, the suggestability is just too high. And we’re going to have to start dealing with that. We’re going to have to start addressing those issues and recognizing that the mass murderers of tomorrow are the children of today that are being programmed with this massive violence overdose.”
He seems to be suggesting that it's OK for people to be a pycho/sociopath/crazy with rage, just as long as you don't play video games.  how about you spot those people, lock them up in a nut house and let normal people enjoy their games?

I'm sorry but I tend to agree that games like GrandTheft Auto being played by a 13 year old is bad.  I have seen kids that have not a f'ing clue and are so stupid they absorb the stupid shit like it is their reality and now they are bad asses that hate the man and need to get the respect.  Wannabes, wiggers, ghetto trash, you name it, you are the product of your environment.  Just look at the taliban kids cutting off peoples heads.

Why would you want your kid to immerse himself in a GTA fantasy while he is still developing reason and morality.

Now, that is not to mean I think kids should all grow up being pussies.  But it is the context, desensitizing, childs maturity, and message that together needs to be evaluated.  There are stupid f'cks in this world.

Quite honestly, no, you aren't the "product of your enviroment." However, the way you mature is based on certain circumstances. If your enviroment allows you to have enough resources to basically live, then really your task is to educate yourself. This is what separates the weak-minded to those who truly take the steps to succeed in life.

And it is just coincedence that ghetto trash produces ghetto trash consistantly.  It is just Coincedence that the the Middle East/Africa produces radical terrorist that butcher humans like cattle.

Catholics produce Catholics, Muslims/Muslims, LDS/LDS......  All coincedence.

Is it true Cho got bullied when he first moved over to America?

I heard he couldn't speak english very well and the teacher would always make him read aloud resulting in "GO BACK TO CHINA!" being shouted at him.

If everyone went on a mass killing spree if they got picked on in grade school..... there would be far less traffic on the roads.

I think the underlying reason for many of these occurrences is cranial assholitis. It's a lot more convincing as a cause than a Beatles song or Zoo Tycoon.

But Dr. Phil had it right on the opening of Scary Movie IV...

I saw the interview with Dr. Phil.
He said that yes Video games and violent movies influence people but they are not responsible for people going on killing sprees or other violent acts. Its the person pulling the triggers choice to act.
don't know what your talking about
