Ok, I know some people randomly lose connection, but it happens to me much more often.

I can be running BF2 and get a connection problem, but xfire and my other networked programs don't lose connection.

I've updated my network card, but anybody have any more ideas?

Theres nothing you can do about it. It has to do with flaws in the coding of the game. Thats why 1.3 was a guaranteed connection problem every round. 1.41 has improved that tremendously. I know there are times where you feel like you are getting more loss than others and you probably are but I think its very random and cant be stopped on our part.

try resetting your modem, that will dump old memory in it, and try to tweak it, here is a good one http://www.speedguide.net/downloads.php

its not your internet connection because you say that other online things are still running. The only thing i could possibly think of is getting your router to give bf2 100% dedication while playing bf2.

I find sometimes when the phones ring, cordless line ones, i will loose connection. Might just be a coinsidance, but it seems to be happening more now we have purchased a new cordless phone. The dude at dick smiths, a retail chain here, stated it would not interfer with the wireless network, but i have my doubts.

Yes it does interfere. Especially certain cordless ones. If you notice your line drops when the phone rings sometimes its because your line consumption is to high. Call your phone company and have them test your lines. It will 100% fix that problem.

try opening the ports in your router/ firewall, to let BF2 ports through.

Check the faq linked in my sig

*BUMP*

I figured it out... we have a cordless VOIP phone.... my cable ran through there, then through a router.

BF2 ran fine with a router, but not with the phone.

So i hooked the cable to the router then the pc, and from the router to the phone (took me a while to open those ports).

Now it works great
