Newb = a person new at something that does not ask "How I mine for fish?" questions.
N00b = n00blet = nubtard = n00bybooby = the exact opposite of a newb.
N00b = n00blet = nubtard = n00bybooby = the exact opposite of a newb.

"Newbie" can be used as an endearing term to identify newcomers to a game or place. This definition can be shared with the term "noob", although some believe it has a different meaning.
The term newb itself is usually used to refer to a person who is new to the field, whereas noob is used as an insult to those people.

I always hear people say 'he's a noob', or 'he's so nooby'. But is there a set definition for it, or do people call other people noobs that they don't think is very good.
Also, people call other people noobs out of spite, say a corporal kills a captain, next thing on the chat box is 'xxxx is a n00b h4x0r!!' or something along those lines. It happens to me alot, i knife someone, 'you're a n00b'. I have never called anyone a n00b, because i am relatively new to the game, but shit does it piss me off when i hear it.
n00bs should be left alone, because in time, they get better.
And then you get the insult 'Karkand n00b'. Oh Dear. Ever thought that people play Karkand because it is a genuinly good map? I do, i love it, the fact that you can wheel in the points is just a bonus, as it is with Jalalabad, Sharqi, Wake, Daqing and Mashtuur. But if you have them as by far and away your favourite map, the you just get looked at funny.

Although there's an essential difference between n00b and newb, as the newb (aka. newbie) show intentions to change his behavior to the better, while the typical n00b is unwilling to change his attitude towards other players.
