Some bus routes through the predominently orthodox Jewish parts of Jerusalem are now adopting segregation - men use the front of the bus, women use the back. If a lady tries to buck the trend, she's subjected to abuse, humiliation, physical intimidation and threats.

To me, this sounds like something the Taleban would do. Already there's a thread citing where Muslim women have been arrested for not covering up in public. This forced segregation on public buses sounds pretty damned similar to me. It also smacks of the forced segregation of blacks that was practiced in the USA until midway through the 20th century.Shlomo Rosenstein wrote:
