BF2S Forums Judaism promotes segregation

Judaism (well, not actual Judaism, but Zionism) promotes segregation?!?!? What a suprise. The whole notion of a sectarian Jewish state, is at the very least a prime example of segregation (if not an out and out racist apartheid system). It's not a big jump to gender based segregation in a country where you must be of a specific religion/ethnicity to be a citizen.
Things like this just go to reinforce the point that the Israelis are no better than thier Islamic extremist neighbours except from a economic success perspective, much of which is due to US handouts and is built upon the deprivation of others.

Judaism seems to host segregation to a greater extent than this. Historically, they've had a difficult time melding with other cultures.

No, but all Jews are automatically granted citizenship.  Meaning if I was a Jew born in the US, I am entitled to citizenship in Israel.

It's not all of Judaism either, its the most orthodox sects that tend to practice segregation by sexes.

As often is the case, this is where tradition and culture clash with modern day western values.

Judaism, as people know it, assume (accept that) it came out of Egypt (linked backed to the Patriarchs: Abraham, Isaac & Jacob), and made its way to the Land of Milk & Honey (Canaan). The xenophobic attitude is very likely a reaction(!) to the reality of being interspersed among outsiders. The xenophobia is built into the faith (and in many ways this is true/applicable to most religious faiths). Most faiths (their culture) conflicts with the specifics of other faiths (cultures). Most religions are inherently xenophobic to some degree. This is true for all of the so-called Abrahamic Faiths (Judaism, Christianity, Muslims); it is also true of the Hindu-Muslim faith conflicts in history.
