No, but it's an option for students studying outside of the UK. It worked for my Swedish girlfriend who goes to St Hilda's college now. I just did the usual A-Levels myself, good grades helped, but I was told it was the interview that swung it for me. At the end of the day the levels of tuition at Oxford are second to none, and I had many friends visiting Harvard/Yale etc, so as long as you come across as intelligent and interesting you'll be fine. Just think outside the box a littleJenspm wrote:
Do you need to take IB to get into Oxford?
what? i am just saying to keep up with himself, the school is one thing but keeping on your toes, skills up, doing your personal best is another. getting in is one thing; staying in and doing well is another.RicardoBlanco wrote:
I went to Oxford, St Johns, studying Economics and business enterprise. Oxford is also fantastic for law. Do your best at IB but it's the interview that'll count for 95% of whether you get in or not. Whatever you do be original and for God's sake make sure you've done something of note outside of your academic studies. Go climb a mountain or something, they love that!..teddy..jimmy wrote:
Well..Im leaving the next year but I have to work out which University I want to study at AND what I want to study(which is an almighty bitch)..
I was thinking of doing my first 3 years in a combination course of economics and history and after that taking an additional year of law.
I was also thinking about applying to Oxford(the only bitch is I HAVE to get a very high IB result) but this limits my UCAS choices if I don't get in..what do you think?anyone have any experience in these courses?and guidance would be greatly appreciated..
Don't listen to agent146 either, Oxford will open so many door's for you after Uni it's not even funny, even if you get a 3rd. Work hard, do something interesting, and wait for the golden handshakes
