so wait u get 1mb download speed or 8... either way those are crazy numbers dude, whats ur isp?bf2gammer wrote:

We wont see this for another 20 years. Itll take a while to get to government, and then longer for business, then commercial use. Still, then it will be like $1000 a month. Todays broadband will be crushed under that. Oh god, I want it now. OH my god I could have the porn I"m thinking of downloading today already downloaded as of yesterday. My life would be complete I have a measly 100 mb connection but that's probably cause of my hub, need to get a new one of those.
Hmm. I was just wondering if having fiber optics would make pings lower.geNius wrote:

That will be an awesome day and show the way to TRUE world wide online gaming.
1Mb/s my isp is media com.. if you think about it 1Mb/s isn't very fast sompared to other users who have 15000kbps or like 20000kbps.. here is a picture to clerifyruss)=spetsnaz wrote:

well what ever you use "dial up, cable, satellite" it all goes to fiber optics. but ya i think it would be better ping if connected directly to ur computer/ sever but you need the right hookups. i dont even know if they have fiber optics for servers, i don't look into servers very often but im pretty sure it wouldlavadisk wrote:

yeah they do have fiber optics for servers
i figured that but was not for sure.. i dont like giving false info.. but for personal computers? by the way AT&T uses "laser" connections for there "main" junction because that is faster than fiber optics..blademaster wrote:

here is a link.. about laser technology.. transfer rates of 155 MB/s but that is like the "Standard" speed.. it can go WAAY fasterbf2gammer wrote:

Just like how routers are usually faster than the connection that they use.bf2gammer wrote:

yes.. but routers also use almos full speed for transfering from computer to computer. you probably already know that but for people who dontlavadisk wrote:
