Hey guys, last tuesday (24th), I went to a show of Dimmu Borgir, a black metal band. The problem is I have tinnitus since that night (the volume was very high).  On wednesday and thursday my tinnitus was loud and really annoying, now its better but I still have it and we are Friday night.

Sincerely, I'm worrying a bit, and I wonder if I'm going to be stuck with this annoying sound for the rest of my life.

Thats the first time that I get this after a show, and Im worried about whether or not I fucked up my ears forever.

Does anyone have had this experience ?
Next time I go to a show of that kind, I think ill bring some ear plugs, is it a good idea ? Does anyone do so ?

You should see a doctor. I had a similar experience after being stuck in front of the monitors at a metal show years ago. The ringing was loud for about three days, then faded about 90% away over the next few weeks. I didn't get it checked out until a few years later. My doctor told me it was tinnitus but there wasn't anything she could do for it since it had been so long. It's partially gone, but still rings enough to keep me up at night sometimes. There's a company that makes a vitamin specifically for this, but I have no clue if it works or not.

always bring earplugs...doesnt matter whether you need to use them or not...i was 1/2 deaf for 15 minutes after "The Mars Volta" played live, but hell, it was awesome...
