I think some of these questions were loaded shit. Just because one values art over industry or vice versa doesn't necessarily mean you're more right or left.
Its a shit survey to be frank.
And on top of that, I'm more libertarian, but this is just extreme liberal vs conservative garbage.

Its not "right or left" that this test is measuring, its a complex matrix of political ideals. Why can't some people wrap their heads around this? The "questions" are not really, they are statements and you have the choice to agree or not. Its not that hard. Either you agree or you don't with each statement.
Your love or indifference to the arts has a lot to do with your world view. If you remember, the less successful artists were some of the first tagged for Nazi "re-education". It was the propensity for belief in the "rehabilitation of the non-productive people" that caused the setup of the original concentration camps, applauded by most Germans. "Non-productive" activities like the arts and music, by contrast, are heavily encouraged in liberal socialist societies when people have finished with thier "minimum work requirements". As for astrologers and mysticism, this is another way of measuring faith-based political systems. Do you or do you not believe that a priesthood (not necessarily Christian) should play a role in politics? Hitler and Reagan both had astrologers on permanent retainer.
The fact that some people see "most" questions as "extremist BS" (almost exclusively an American viewpoint) shows just how straight and NARROW the political discourse in this country has become, and the results show a major gap between what people believe and what they actually vote for. If this pisses you off, I'm sorry, but historically there has always been a huge gap between what leadership promises and what they actually do.
Another source of anguish is that many people that claim to be/vote conservative are just victims of the propoganda, having no idea what the ideology is behind it. They may like the punchlines and talking points, but they don't know what the agenda behind them are. The same can be said of the left as well. Generally though, the more knowledgable you are about different political philosophies, the more heavily you lean in the direction of your favorite.
