May I point out that BF2 and SF have separate kit badges?
In BF2 you need 40 kills IAR for the engineer, while you need 44 kills IAR in SF.

And since the original poster doesn't even have the basic SF engineer badge, I strongly think he's talking about the BF2 badge.
So suggesting Ghost Town and Warlord won't help him (yet).

You can get basic (Vanilla) BF2 badges in Special Forces, but you cannot get Special Forces badges in Vanilla BF2.

Hell, I've done this with an S12K, a pistol & a whole lot of gusto on Mashtuur City. It was a 64-man server running 64-man maps. I ran something like 43-12 solely on foot, beating the Blackhawk'ers and the engineer who sat in the tank all of the time (who was on the evil USMC team ). My squad and I won that game...and proceeded to win the next few for kicks!

Rofl, warlord armor whore, it's no problem. Also possible on small ghost town servers, it's really easy, dont whine about the badges they are not so hard to get.

Really? I didn't know that.
That means when playing on a SF map, you'll get the regular badge when reaching 40 kills and 4 kills later you'll get the SF badge?

I just unlocked the Jackhammer today, and I must say, it's a bucketload of awesomeness. I went 33-6 on I/O. That's not really all that impressive, but then again, I'm a shitty BF2 player. Just give it a go if you exhause all other options.

chopper/jet is how i got almost all my expert combat badges.. but there are other ways... u can do pistol/knives server.. lots of kills.. i average bout 100-150kills/game on those, you can look for high points servers... or just upgrade ure computer/internet connection so you can actually enjoy the leisure time u spend playing bf2

easiest way for that is go on jalalabad get in a buggy as engy and follow the tank(s).. when i got my veterans, there was still 270 tickets left in the game... ill get my expert same way in a bit

I got mine on a IO Jalalabad server.

Usually to get a badge like this you need a really long round. The round I got mine in wasn't particularly long, but the teams were uneven. It wan't to the point that we were being capped out (I was on MEC) but we couldn't hold the flags we were taking. Consequently, we had 2-3 flags for most of the game, and at any one of the flags there was about 10 US guys going to get it. You'd be amazed how easy you can get nade/jackhammer kills in those narrow hallways at junkyard.

Ended up with about 50 kills.

Talk about the repair badge I got mine in karkand and yes it took forever trying to get it. That day there was a determined guy that kept blowing the commander toys and I kept repairing to the point I didn't left the base repairing the whole round
