Distant Early Warnings?

Leaked US intelligence document warning of terrorist attacks on London and America using fuel tankers

On September 11, 2001 terrorists hijacked four airliners laden with full tanks of jet fuel and used them as flying bombs to destroy and create fear. The far-reaching effects directly impacted the operation and economic stability of the airline industry, the on-going cost of enhanced security and preparedness, and the effects on the American economy in general. Financial concerns based on economic instability, job instability, and the issues of insurance and insurance cost weigh heavily on the outcomes. Such a scenario is as realistic a consideration for the trucking industry as it was a reality for the airline industry.
It just seems a little odd that there have been two freeways taken out over two days by two fuel tankers. What next?

I guess they got tired of the whole blow-buildings-up thing. I guess blowing up trucks and giving (or getting) 2nd degree burns works.

Let me put it this way... using super tankers wouldnt work for shit...

My dad works in the shipping industry. Mainly selling and buying super tankers and hes told me quite a bit about how the ships are safe and things. The safety stuff they have on them is massive... You would need to break every holding tank, and then bypass the lockdowns on all the hatches, then somehow get rid of the safety grills on the pipes... and so on.

Basically it would be better to just put all the explosives required together to blow up all the stuff...

I'm going to put this one under the "oops" category, no one is perfect and if you figure how many of these trucks are on the road then its bound to happen.

The Oklahoma bombing wasn't a big enough warning?

I don't know, but it seems pretty dumb to blow a super tanker on Sunday at 3.45 a.m.  I mean, if you want to kill a lot of people you do this on Monday at 9:00 a.m.  This was an accident, sorry Islamophobes.

Coincidents I think as they wouldn't want all of our new wannabes for president to all be focused on a goal against them. They have them right where they want them now {divided} with doubts about the war among other things. I don't think they will make a move against the US until the elections are over & they see what direction the foreign policy will go this time.
The UK though is an entirely another matter , hopefully they have curbed it for a while with the recent bust.

http://www.aynrand.org/site/News2?JServ … _ctrl=1221 I agree with this & think it would go a long way in solving the terrorist problem.

Do you have any idea what kind of economic damage a closed freeway can do?

These seem like instances of bad driving to me.  If these had been tankers that blew up in the middle of downtown, I might be a little worried, but as it stands these incidents seem to be coincidence, nothing more.

You fail to understand when things don't arrive on time money is lost. Seeing as I was in the shipping bussiness for 13 years I can tell you I have heard of detours. Roads are built for reasons. When a major highway like I-580 is taken out simply funneling traffic via a detour is not going to be enough to keep the same pace out. Read the article.."So far this morning, traffic on all the affected roadways remains light, but major backups are expected today and for the foreseeable future."

Ok, you're right. Money is going to be lost over this, but not nearly enough to make a minimal dent in the economy of either state. Come on, to think this might have some conection to terrorism? Hitting freeways in the middle of the night?

This is either scaremongering on neo-con flame bait...

You've got a good point there, whenever they dig up a road near me, it takes forever to get through, a blocked highway will cause mayhem. But I suppose we'll have to wait and see, IMO there's an equal chance of it being a coincidence to an attack. (I changed my view from just being a coincidence)
