I think I´m playing a little bit too much Strike @ Karkand and i´d like to try to get some points with the chopper...just for fun and because if you really dominate that machine no one can stops you!

But there are some problems because 1. i don´t have a joystick [juzt my MX510] and 2. I don´t know why the hell the missiles never (or not often) hit  enemy helicopters when I point them in a large/short distance. o.O

Well... sorry for my bad english and I hope you can give me some help to get better and better.

See the BF2 Wiki for some great chopper advice.  It'll tell you more than most people on here.

you dont need a joystick to be good in the chopper you just need (imo) a large mousing surface and a good gunner.

LoL sorry than... The only way I can fly with mouse is when I reduce my Helicopter sensitivity + I use Invert mouse. Also Aim somewhere between the cross and the line on your screen. In air combat pull the nose up to fire, but its easy to crash doing maneuvers with a mouse. Also I'm not very good with choppers, just trying to help lol

joysticks suck for choppers ..and you cant hit the rockets because you dont know how to aim them =p ...they dont come at the crosshair they come about an inch  below and any movement the chopper makes moves the rockets in the opposite direction .. just practice in solo or make a lan game and try to aim for things in the map to see how the rockets react

Alot of people prefer flying choppers wth the keyboard anyway.  You just have to practice alot.

One way to practice flying (or anything else for that matter) is to set up a LAN on a 64 map and just fly around.

I like to practice on Kubra Dam since there are many high structures, bridges and tunnels to fly through.  If you want buildings to fly between Shariq is a good one.

Of course, eventually you'll have to fly online, live and you'll die many times.  I'm still learning myself.  I use a joystick but hovering is a little trickier.

Good Luck!!!

I always fly choppers with mouse and key board, I suck with joystick.
So you definately don't need a joystick if you're good at using mouse.

You dont need a joystick for teh choppers, if anything the mouse and keyboard is better.

Just etup it up nice a nd high sensitivity, with invert mouse.

1} A keyboard is fine for flying. I fly the attack helos with a joystick about 80% of the time and with the keyboard the rest. I fly the Blackhawks with a keyboard 100% of the time.

2} As far as getting your missles to hit - Go see M Kopperhead in the single player mode. Play Fushe Pass {Dalian has that stupid AA tank} and practice, practice, practice. Learn to fly first then worry about shooting missles. You will find that the more accurate your flying, the more accurate your missles.

When you are ready, start grabbing the Helo in a real game. Wait until it is available {it does happen} and give it a go. Let the person who guns for you know that you aren't an expert so they can decide for themselves if they want to risk it. It is very seldom a problem.

Go gunner whenever you can. Learn to be effective with the TV missles and cannon. A good pilot will appreciate that and the result will be that you will stay alive longer and be able to learn by watching what he does.

Don't ever TK for aircraft, only little babies do that.

like a few people have already said, keyboard and mouse is better than joysticking for choppers.  i have a joystick, but i only use it for jets, never choppers.

just go into a single player game and practice.  that way, when you fuck up (and you will) it doesnt mean anything.

1. u don need a joystick. some of my mates kick asses with the chopper and they play only with keys (wasd + cursor keys).
2. that needs practice. try to hit a chopper from behind or frontal...

well, some ppl just are talented. some have to practice it very hard and some are basket cases (like me, but im a great gunner).
