I threw away the manual last month or something like that (actually, my housekeeper did), and I desperately need my CD-key.  I tried going into the registry to get it, but it's so encrypted it's not even funny (actually it kinda is).

Thanks,
   Drunk

well i don't know how to retrieve it, but if somebody could, that guy could just steal your cd key since you pasted whole thing in registry..

You still don't show up in the ban list. Your IP isn't there, nor is the CD Key (all encrypted versions anyway). Dunno what to tell ya man. Have you tried to log on recently?

Perhaps it was an account ban?  And yes, I have tried logging back in, both yesterday and today.  Everytime I try I see, "You have been banned by an admin or as the result of excessive teamkilling."  And I know I got banned for saying the word n00b in chat.

Never.
Throw.
Away.
Your.
Documentation.

Why do so many people throw away pieces of their software purchases? Even if you have no place to put a huge box and have to throw that away, just wrap all of each one's contents in a rubber band, or put them in a ziplock, and toss them in a small Rubbermaid bin. Keep it under your desk or somewhere near your computer. If you have a filing cabinet with extra room, consider dedicating a few folders to that stuff.

I don't know how many times I've had to tell people this, but it makes alot of tech support a pain in the ass.

As for being banned by an admin or for saying a forbidden word, just try another server.

There really isn't any way to find it. Only way is to buy new game and use that new CD-key. I just don't understand why people even take manual out from DVD box when game is installed. I'm using mini-image so I don't even need my DVD to play the game so I can just keep my game DVD and manual in DVD box in my bookshell.

There are ways of getting your CDkey back, however none of them are easy.

If you can restore back to when you originally installed BF2, you have a good chance of getting it back. Mainly by going into the registery under: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\EA Games\ergc
In there you will find a key, that is unencrypted.

Other than that, patch 1.02 or 1.03 started encrypting the cdkey values in the registery. So it starts with an x etc..
