Surley before recomending or slating any video card we should ask what resolution are you going to run the game at as a card that will 1024x768 on high won't necesarily run 1600x1200. If he's running 1024x768 or 1280x1024 then a 7600GT will probably be enough.

As has been asked before why 2 processors and don't buy a board with onboard graphics.

i dont understand, the 7300GS is 256mb, and the 7600GT is the same 256mb...the 7300 runs on low, but the 7600 runs on high...wats the difference?

EDIT. i made a mistake witht the two processors, and i will be running in widescreen..

Look at the table down the bottom
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_NVIDIA_Graphics_Processing_Units#GeForce_6_series
notice how the 7600 has higher clock speeds higher fill rate higher bandwidth and i think it also has more pipelines. To put it simply my $100 6600GT could beat your 7300GS any day.

dump the 7300...mate has it and its awful

6420 is good...4mb cache instead of the 6400's 2mb cache.. will clock nice too, though if you know how to overclock, could save some cash and get a 6320 and overclock it, and put the rest towards a new graphics card

you will have to make sure that when you get that motherboard, that you disable the on-board video cause it may create problems

The amount of RAM isn't the main concern.  The 7300GS just doesn't have the pixel pipelines, memory bandwidth, or clock speed to run BF2 with any decent settings.

Since he has pci 16 then I recommend that you do not buy the 7300 nor the x1950 pro but the x1950 XTX.

I am not too fond that you bough an intel Board but I can imagine it will hold.

So Good enough processor, I think.

Ram is really good.

Graphics card sucks donkey ass. But do not be sad it must have been cheap.

Motherboard is not the top in the world but I guess it will get you going for some years.

So as stated above I recommend that you buy a X1950 XTX. That is a very powerfull card.

That's a stupid suggestion. The X1950XTX is in a totally different price bracket to those cards.

You might as well suggest he buys 2 8800GTXs and a new MB to run them in SLI.

Go for a 6320 and get a 7600GT rather than that horrible 7300GS. That'll be fine.

Wtf the XTX is so much cheaper than the gtx where I live. And if he wants some DX10 then you should have said that he should wait until ATI comes.

if he buys two 8800 gtx then he will pay about 4 times more than just for one x1950 XTX. And the XTX is a very good card.

That is pretty stupid IMO, but I do not have so high needs for good graphics.

That wasn't my point.

My point was he has specified a GPU and you have suggested a GPU that costs about 6x as much. It's a silly recommendation. Of course a 1950XTX would be better, but it's just not a sensible suggestion.

That like me saying I wanted to buy a car, showing one that I'd found and asking for opinions and you saying, that's no good - buy a Ferarri.

I wouldn't recommend that anyone buy an 1950XTX at the moment in any case, an 8800GTS is a much better choice.

No, the gpu is shit (rest looks good though, drop to a 6320 and spend what u save on a better graphics card).

It will run 1280x1024 on all medium with dynamic effects off. That's what my 6600GT does and is about as fast as your 7300GS. The GPU is clearly bottlenecking your system.
Get something better.

According to that the 6600GT blitzes the card he picked.  Like I said, drop down to the 6320, overclock it if u want to but for a gaming machine a 6320 is plenty on the CPU front, plunge the savings into your graphics card.  What is your top price for the graphics card?  If this is for a gaming machine, the graphics is the last thing you want to skimp on...........  I agree with the other guys (depending on your budget) get yourself a 7600GT and you will be sorted, the 7300 is cheaper for a reason.  E.g it is only 64bit (means shite).

The alternative is to buy what you've already chosen, and then upgrade the video card later when you have more money. But I'd go with a cheaper CPU and better video card.
