So i am in the process of building a new rig, its decent but not the best.  Anyway i bought a Rosewill RE502-SLV ATX12V v2.03 500W Aluminum Power Supply from newegg.com and its no longer sold there so I doubt I can RMA it but it doesn't have an 8 pin power for my mobo.  The mobo requires the usual setup (20 pin) and the four next to it. and then across the mobo it wants an 8 pin plug and I don't have one, will the local computer store have one that I can convert a 4 pin into or what?

did a couple of searches and found a cable, ordered it and hoping it gets here soon lol

Who are Rosewill?

Using adapter cables for these things is not an ideal solution.

most mobos with 8pin "P4" connectors can also run if you just plug in a 4-pin one. No guarantees on stability though

so the p4 listed here would power that spot?

theoretically. Maybe contact your mobo manufacturer and ask them?

never heard of rosewill. but i was impressed when my hx520 arrived with both 4 and 8 pin, and a 24 pin (not a 20+4 though)

If I recall correctly, Rosewill is another company that is a rebadge of Channel Well Tech, but I've also heard some of their units are PowMax builds. One sure way to find out the true OEM of your PSU:

So how can we find out who is the real manufacturer of a given power supply? On the label of almost all power supplies there is an Underwriters Laboratories (UL) record number, usually very small under a logo that looks like an “UR” seen in the mirror (we will show this logo on the pictures below, so you will know exactly how this logo looks like). With this number, you can go to UL’s website and check who is the owner of that record.

Click here to open UL’s website Online Certification Directory
