My father who over the last few months has developed a rather strong addiction for BF2 has finally cracked the shits over our 100+ ping and lag on local servers. Dodo really is the shittest ISP.

Just curious on what experiences you guys have had with the other ISPs out there...

Particularly Internode as they have a decent plan that my father has been looking at...

I've got TPG adsl (1.5 meg) cause i'm 400 meters away from the cable lines :'(

It's cheap, it's faster than anything i can get around my area (Carseldine, Brisbane)

Get cable..if possible, i have it and ping at a steady 25 across Aust....play in foreign servers regularly and get about 150ping(still playable)

If your close to a phone exchange and it's been upgraded you can get ADSL 2+ (the exchange near me hasn't even the slightest plan to upgrade)

I've got Internode at home and the shop. It kicks arse cause all the BF2 servers are free for a start. Plus I have pings of 14 on a good day, 28 on a bad.

We have 1.5mb... That's the point. It's shit.

Pings of 100 ffs... Ping spikes, lag... It's getting progressively worse too.

_{It should be noted that Captain Flecco currently makes birth at one of the most remote points of Australia and is aprox. 3000km from any and all BF2 servers in Australia...}

Well all the ISPs are the same really. If you're concerned about pings, go with Bigpond (yeah right) or Internode. If you want downloads, Exetel is pretty hypo in the quota department. If you want good rep check www.whirlpool.net.au

yeh like cheez said, go check out whirlpool. I have ADSL2+ on iiNet, I wouldn't recommend it for you even if you could get it, as it wouldn't be much faster (you are too far from the nearest exchange for it to get good speeds - my guess)

Internode is probably a god choice.
