Don't waste your money on a damn thing right now. If you want to upgrade to an ATI card (Not a bad choice) then wait until they release their nextgen DX10 cards in a month or so. You'll be glad you waited... especially considering that the current card you have right now is far from being a bad card.

equally the R600 will not be the godsend its has been hyped up to be, the XTX must have something up its sleave tremendously to compete. the RAM is expensive to produce and not really needed tbh, even if it does equal or outperform the GTX, it wont be released for a longer time, geforce have announced they are bringing the G90 forward. with the ultra as a stop gap. a first generation D10 answer to a second generation doesnt sound good to me.
however i am expecting something great for midrange cards from ATI. hopefully they can provide, cut the immense waste of ram get size down a bit and fit it with a decent cooler we know they can produce. and they may make gains.
as always its best to hold on as long as possible to see how things play out.

Wait for the R600 core to come out (ATI's DX10) and the price on both cards will most likely drop.
~ Do you not know that in the service … one must always choose the lesser of two weevils?
Actually the 8800GTX is the fastest card, even comparing to the 2900XT's. Why? Because Nvidia has more Shading units or something like that.Havok wrote:
Correct, for now. They're days away from releasing their 2900XT's and that will smoke the 8800GTX for the same price. This'll cause a price drop for nVidia, which may trigger a chain reaction for ATI's DX9 cards.-101-InvaderZim wrote:
ATI have yet (to my knowledge, and I could be wrong) release DX10 cards.
My point: Wait a few weeks before buying a new card. When ATI blows away nVidia with its DX10 cards, prices will drop.
Actually, it doesn't.cyborg_ninja-117 wrote:

ATI, faster in games that use a lot shaders
Nvidia, faster in games that use a lot textures.
and I'll wait for G90. and why?. I have only a year till I have to go to army buying a kickass rig now would be stupid cuz can't play when in army and the stuff will be old when I get back.
