Do you think rifles with bipods: (M249 SAW, M24, ect.) should be allowed to be "mounted" on a surface?

What I mean is, is there is a 3-4 foot tall wall (Karkand square) do you think, with a setting up time(5 seconds?) should be allowed to mount the bipod to the ground?

The setting up time would make users have to stand there for 5 seconds to set it up, the can't move until they put it away (another 5 seconds). I think they should be able to rotate on an 65 degree angle (about most mounted guns).

Also, setting the gun up would allow for maximum accuracy on the gun but minimum mobility. I think this would greatly improve the light machine guns and the snipers.

Comments/opinions?


EDIT: Also capable to mount if lying on the ground.

it is stupid to have a bunkeror a concrete wall and a PKM and not be able to use both at the same time. Using any supported surface to improve accuracy should be allowed.

yeah i agree kind of like day of defeat style

but what about the snipers straightline of sight, no moving in the sights or heartbeats and joggles... in my opinion there should be the most standing alittle less crouch and barely any or none prone....

Polarbearz - Yes, it doesn't take 5 seconds, but I was trying to be fair.

OpsChief - Yes, I was using the concrete wall as an example.

livingstorm - Yes, and shooting from high to low/low to high easier with light machine guns.

RogerThast - Yes, that is where I got this idea from. The snipers, although getting an increase of accuacy, would suffer greatly if they are being shot at and cannot move....I tried to make it balanced.

completely agree. there is no good reason for bipod guns not to be able to be used on 3 foot walls or crates. it pisses me off everytime a play support and cant use a damn wall. and the set up time should be menial, about the same amount of time it takes you to go prone. use should be able to strafe left and right on the wall, while at the same time losing your acccuracy.

Good point NATROIS, but have to disagree with the set up time. In Day of Defeat it take aprox. 2-3 seconds to set it up, its perfectly balaced and a resonable time.


On another note, I'm surpized MORE PEOPLE haven't voted or commented on this yet.
