"The National Rifle Association is urging the Bush administration to withdraw its support of a bill that would prohibit suspected terrorists from buying firearms."

This cannot be the true story...can it?

Understandable. The NRA want excuses to use their vast arsenals. I mean how often to you get to legitimatly fire an assault rifle in suburban America? Can't blame them for wanting a purpose.

If your wife calls the cops and says, " my husband threatened me " they can arrest you. The charge will be " making terrorist threats".

Dig?

This happened to me.

Well, I can see their arguement, even if I do not agree.  "suspected" has no legal standing, and therefore, technically this would  allow the government to take away the right to purchase arms frome anyone and everyone if they wanted to.

Ty. This has not a damn thing to do with an assault rifle.  It's about all firearms.

Counterpoint.  As usual, the media doesn’t give you all the facts when they’re busy smearing the NRA.

Edit: looks like another member found the link, too, I'll delete my post of it.

"I'll be very clear-Frank Lautenberg's proposal is un-American.  There's no other way to put it.

His legislation would give the Justice Department the full power to put anyone they "suspect" of being involved in terrorism on a secret watch list and deny them the right to purchase a firearm."

Seems they are more worried about a "secret" goverment suspect list than the right to bear arms on this issue.

Sweeet, Thompson would be my first choice of a collector gun.

St Louis is only a couple hours away.  Are there any Desert Eagle's available? Always wanted to shoot one of those.

Just thinking about shooting a S&W .500 makes my wrist hurt.   The USP Tacs are nice.

I go home from school tomorrow, which means I'll be rummaging through my gun safe to see what I'm going to use to blow off some steam after finals.  It's a toss up between the BAR and the M1911.

I was going to get one of those when I bought my last shotgun, but the owner of the store said that they had a problem with the safety breaking.
