avoid team kills
avoid placing mines in the roadways where team vehicles access, when ordered to go somewhere because YOU have joined a SQUAD, follow orders and always ask for new orders when task completed, NEVER jump and kill people with GL, allow opponents a chance to kill YOU ie; dont camp a spawn for easy kills work for it ...see a dude ready to stab/pistol fight, pull your knife/pistol and be a opponent not a AT rocket pod or DAO12 blaster(just some things that I would like )
In what diluted world do you live in? Avoiding tking is the only good/useful thing you said in there.
The patch will "fix" the Grenade Launcher "problem", so do it while you can. Camping a spawn may result in easy kills, but you waste valuable time just sitting there and can score more points by running around (obvious exception is when you are in a tank/apc covering overused spawn locations on Sharqi and Karkand). Squad orders CAN be useful but often are silly or not updated often enough. The squad leader is a mobile spawn point, and if they designate a target, should be there themselves to help you spawn in there. If the squad leader isn't actively going after the target there is no way I'm following the order.
There is no "honor" in knife/pistol fights. You come at me with a knife and I see you, you are getting a face full of lead. If you can't get your badge without me helping you, then you don't deserve it. Nobody laid down arms to help me get my expert knife and pistol badges.
Now on to new comments:
1. I agree with MarkyMark, don't punish accidental tks. That includes a bomber pilot who takes out that armor next to you while it was capping your teams flag. You'd likely die at the hands of the tank anyways, but the plane makes sure that your team keeps that flag.
2. Don't place AT mines in areas deep in your own teams territory. Stick them closer to contested areas to reduce teamkills (I often drive more wrecklessly when I know I have a ways to go until I meet hostiles).
3. Definately don't TK to get into a vehicle (unless they started it, in which case you really should ask an admin to just ban them - if the server admins refuse, I recommend finding a better server).
4. Vehicle whoring is okay, but if you aren't lasting long or getting many kills, let somebody else take it if they are waiting around for it.
4a. Turn up mouse sensitivity when in vehciles, you can access this in the control settings (sensitivity levels are different for vehicles and infantry). This will give you faster turret turning while in a tank or APC (but can be a little frustrating while manning a 50 cal).
4b. Don't use the "skill" vehicles (Planes and Helos) until you've practiced a bit offline. Start with a totally empty 64 player server (go to multiplayer and select "create") to work on the basics of flying, then play a little single player with planes to practice bombing technique - cleansweep is the only one with the F-15/Su-34. Put in an hour or two there and build some confidence, and then try it out online. Even vetrans can make n00bish mistakes, but more often than not they rack up more kills, tk less, and last longer in the air.
5. Biggest way to go from n00b to smacktard is to make nasty comments on the in-game chatting. Most smacktards are VERY vocal, which is one of the most annoying things about them.
These are a few things I do to be a more respected player (beyond just trying to be skilled). I hope they help you out.
