However you want to interpret "It is my responsibility today to alert people to the risk of (his) candidature with regards to the violence and brutality that would be unleashed in the country (if he won),".

She is desperate, Sarkozy has been leading in every poll. I'd be very surprised if he lost.

And things will happen if Sarkozy is elected, there will be smashed and burned cars but it all depends on the speech he will do.

If he talks about the suburbs like he did, then there will be riots, but I'm sure that the day after the election will be pretty tense.

That's because France's political spectrum hasn't changed in decades, and they (Royal and Sarkozy) are seen as a "new wave" in politics, they say that they will change and the usual bullshit but the question is : will the next president really do what he said or act as Chirac (he hasn't entered the Iraq War, that's the only thing he did for 5 years, other than nothing).

The problem with Sarkozy is he has been minister of internal affairs the last 5 years under one of the weakest French president since WW2.

Sarkozy is the one responsible for the segregationist politics of the French government towards the immigrants and poor and he is accountable for the riots especially in northern parts of Paris earlier.

How can he solve the problem he created ?

Most interviews i`ve seen from France this weekend riots are expected if Sarkozy wins the election and it looks like he will.

And by many means he will run a fascist like politic in the years to come.
