I'm just curious as to what sports you all play, why you play them, for how long, and if you plan on going anywhere with that sport (going pro)? And what hobbies other than sports do you do, why, how long, do you plan on achieving anything from them?

I was in gymnastics for a few years, I was in it during gradeschool and then quit because I thought it was gay, but went back again three years ago after talking to a friend who coaches gymnastics and also breakdances. I also took Goju-Ryu Karate for a few months. Once I get my car (sometime this summer) I'm going to a local Kali gym and am going to learn how to Thai Box, and the Gracies opened a BJJ (Brazilian Ju-Jitsu) Gym not far from my house, so I'm going to learn BJJ there and I hope to get into MMA, but I here it takes 5-6 years to go pro....if you're good. At the moment I've taken a break from Gymnastics after tearing my chest muscles apart a few months ago( The most excrutiating pain I've ever felt). I used to skateboard, but one day I was looking at my deck which was all scratched and fucked up, and decided to draw on it, so I took it apart sanded it down and then bought some Micron pens (The whole set of blacks) and spent 3 weeks drawing on it, and ever since then (about 3-4 years ago) I've been driven to eplore everything the art communtiy has to offer, so far I draw everyday for hours at a time, I've painted a few things with oil paint, I plan on learning ho to silkscreen, and I would llike to try my hand at photography. I'm planningon going to an art college here in Seattle called "Cornish" which is suppose to be pretty renown and is hard as fuck to get into (only 150 people a year). After I get a degree in Graphic Design and the Fine arts I'm going to go to The University of Washington and further my Degree in Graphic Design and hopefully once I graduate from the U-Dub I'll get a decent job, making art. I also got CS2  short while ago and am learnign that (slowly) but I plan on using that so I can make stencils, that I can go and take walmart spray paint and stencil all over The Emerald City (Seattle). I write too, poetry mostly, I tried my hand at Short Stories but I found that to be rather difficult and time consuming. Also (lol I just keep going huh?) Music, I ply bass (not very well) and I recently bough FL7 and I play around with that especially with Maxxxtreme (he's here on the forums somewhere I believe) and we make ambient, trance sexy-ness. I want to produce music more than anything, but I'm not sure how I'd even begin to go about that so...eh

Play in a 5-a-side football (soccer) league most Tuesdays. Just a social thing really, I'd say most guys in the UK play the occasional game with mates, then we go down the pub after and get fucked.

Also I go running 2-3 times a week with my mate, nothing major just 3 miles timed best effort. and most Saturdays (weather permitting) I go cycling with my girlfriend we do 18 miles down the old railway line to a pub at Pitsford resevoir, sit in the beer garden have a bite to eat and cycle back. Then go out in town in the evenings if I'm not working.

Although tbh starting my new job has thrown some of that a bit but hopefully I'll be able to keep it up! Will be interesting to see what people do when they're not tea-bagging people on karkand.

Yea definitely that counts....I thought about building scale models as well, but don't have enough patience or skill.
Yay, it counts!

Well, I don't have pics of them (as of yet) but here's a list of what I do have:

[*] Sherman Tank (75mm gun)
[*] Sherman Tank (105mm howitzer gun)
[*] Late Model Tiger I
[*] Panzer IV
[*] 3 Halftracks of varying apperance
[*] Flak 88 Field gun
[*] 20mm Flak gun (in quad)
[*] Various bits and pieces, sandbags, walls, random infantry sets...

If I remember, I'll go on Tamiya and obtain photos of the ones I have. (Also bear in mind, none of mine are painted yet, so don't be too 'wowed' when you see the pics from there )

Exactly what I was thinking lol.

That's cool that you Cycle 18 miles just to get a brew. +1 to you, no one in America would ever do that, they'd walk 3 blocks tops.

I have been training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for 5 years, and I still love it. I highly recommend it to everyone, providing you have a decent school to go to and not one run by idiots. I also play ice hockey, fly airplanes/helicopters, and play lots of poker. Pretty much sums it up.

Yeah major kudos for anyone who can spend hours on that stuff and not get pissed off if you break something accidently. I'm normally a really calm person with other people but when I've done something like broken something/lost something /stubbed my toe, I can go crazy!

Depends on the set.

The Infantry guys take 5 mins to build (That's all of them, not just one ) and can cost anywhere between $7 - $25 AU. (Depends if they are 'specialist infantry' like a Machine-gun crew set and such)

The Tanks/Halftracks can take anywhere from 10 mins  to upwards of 2 hours. (For tracked vehicles they usually give you a rubber track that you only glue in one spot. My Tiger tank and its 200 piece track came completely seperate >)Depending on the size of the model and the extras that come with it, they could cost upwards of $40.

As for paints and the like, I have no idea of the cost, but I know that it would take a long time. (Each model comes with a list of paints and a general guideline as to how it should be painted)

All my models are 1/35th scale. 200 pieces was for both the left and right tracks (Actually, it said in the manual to have 99 tracks on the left part, and 100 on the right I just evened them out) The track parts were kinda small.

From age 8 to 11 I use to be in the school's track and field team (I did the 4 x 100 relay, long jump and 800 meter). Then at 12 played basketball for a year. At age 13 I met football and got stuck with it ever since (I'm 26 now). I don't play 11 play football anymore because football shoes damage in the long run your knees so I stopped from that (because when we have cold weather my knees start to hurt), but I play now 5 player indoor football. I can play in all the football positions but I love to be midfielder for organizing attacks and defending at the same time (and also are the guys that usually run more than the whole team).

My dad also used to play football, but he always played at the defense. And now that I see him complain sometimes of his knees and/or ankles (he's 49 and stopped playing football at the age of 28) I can see myself with those struggles when I become his age.

Royce Gracie was good against nobody's, but when he fought against champions he always lost. Saku was an example.

Gracie fails again, now against Hidehiko Yoshida:

He demanded a rematch and it was granted, but Gracie offered it with special rules (great champ huh?) and tied it . I tell you, he couldn't beat champions.

Gracie loses against Genki Sudo:

He is a champ in one thing, to be on the floor as you can see.

I used to fly just for fun on my own, but I just started flying helicopters for the Police Department I work for. Lots of fun. As for the jiu-jitsu, i'm a purple belt under Sergio Penha. He's the only guy to ever come close to beating Rickson Gracie. Great guy, he's like a father to most of us at my school.

Where do you live? I'm in Las Vegas. You are welcome to come train with us any time. Quite a few people that come into town for the UFC will swing by and work out while they are here. As for advice, just stick with it. It's frustrating as hell the first few months because guys that weigh much less than you will be kicking your ass regularly. But that just proves that it works. If the people at your school are assholes, then leave and find another one. Because it's so popular now there are more and more shit schools opening, looking to make money. But just train hard and have fun.
