I've miraculously survived 3 arty strikes zeroed on me and my squad on Hotel top on Karkand without even moving from it. Try beating that.
Actually the artillery seems to rain down in set patterns.
So if i could be bothered, i could make a real guide on this, on were exactly to run to in relevance to the position of the first shell. The first one would have to miss you of course.

If you get hit with artillery you may notice a slight ringing in your ears, don't worry though you'll be no where near them.
i kinda walk away slowly for some reason. or i stand still. also, at the begining of a round, the commander will always put arty on the airfield of a map like wake island. i can usually predict when the arty is coming and get out of the way. everyone waiting for a chopper dies and i claim the prize:)
There is a trick to killing tanks with arty - I've never quite figured out exactly what it is - and I think it varies from location to location - some locations appear to have different arty radii and patterns to others - but the one thing that is guaranteed to cause every shell to miss is placing the arty strike directly over the top of the tank - you have to be off to one side...LionEyez wrote:

I've been artied a lot while capping a flag in a tank, and theres been several times that I've died (full health-> destroyed) seemingly in one hit. So does a direct hit from above kill a tank?
It seems the chances of such a hit are quite slim, as I've never managed to do it as Commander, as far as I know.
My response to Arty is usually quickly die , then jump up 200 ft in the air (geronimo!!!). Well thats what I do anyway!
