Last week a post was written about the 8900 video card. When I went to return to it (because I was
interested in what was being said about the topic), it seems to have disappeared.
Does any1 know what happened to it? (And yes I am being serious so no smart arse comments please )

It is gene_pool´s fault! After he converted to WOW he has taken the grudge to the forums where it will haunt members and delete posts.

Damn on you WOW devil!

Oh man major bummer

I had some awesome arguements on why the 8900 is crap and not worth the time, effort and money to buy

lol where ya found out how good it is? besides that real old price/specs list? if we start speculating I heard from somewhere that 8900GTX has 160 shader units or what the hell they are called and no die shrink, still 80nm.... but that's two months old info so expect something different (not sure if it is better tho) maybe 65nm chips...

I was thinking more in performance Panzer.

About how the 8900 "blitzed the field" in Benchmark Tests, and how I said the 8900 was 3:100/sec faster than the 8800Ultra, which only made the 8800Ultra 3:100/sec faster than the 8800GTX... I doubt very much that anyone would notice the performance difference between the top 3 cards that are on the market (IF the 8900 exists of course), for the $1000+ price difference.
Benchmarks are not the be-all-and-end-all when it comes to performance.

yep, my x800xt is still able to handle even the latest games like stalker at medium settings. new gfx cards are always fast enough for current games (ya really can't see the difference between 8800gts and 8800gtx right now)  but it is very likely that the next gen dx10 games will show some real differences between the cards. it's like when I bought my x800xt. no one could tell the real difference between x800xt and x800pro but later it showed up
before that it doesn't matter do ya have a 8800gts or gtx or even 8900gtx when using resolutions below 1600x1200

edit: and yeah, 8800 ultra is total bs. absolutely no difference compared to GTX (except in price of cource)

lol, the cooler is basically the same. it is just better looking and there is HUGE 40Mhz increase in core speed and little bit OCed memory do you think that it justify the +200$? you can get two ATI HD 2900XTs in crossfire for almost the same price....
