When someone makes a very smart, well educated response or post I usually look at their stats (Don't ask why). I've noticed that most of those people tend to have really shitty stats.

So does it seem reasonable to say that the smarter you are in the real world, the worse you are at BF2?

I'm not saying this is true for everyone. But it just seems to follow a pattern.

I could be wrong though... Anyone have any thoughts about this? Or even care?

No, because stats are incomparable to anyone apart from the same player.

You can't compare me to you, or me to anyone else in BF2, because everyone has their own individual play style. Some players will still have the stats from their nOOby days- like me, whilst others have set up new accounts to get rid of them.

I don't care.  I still have my shitty nooby stats, and I can't be bothered to make a new account from scratch.

Well the "smarter" people tend not to spent more than 5 hours a day playing BF2(It gives us a headache), while some of the less smart people have no life outside of BF2.  The smarter people have the advantage of using this to overcome obstacles with a small amount of strategy.  The less smart people have the advantage of experience.  And then there are the people who play PR(or some other unranked mod that they prefer over BF2).  Their stats are frozen at whatever stage of experience they were at when they begam playing the mod.

True, that.  I play about 1 and a half hours per week.

Of course, that is just what I have noticed.  There are Many exceptions, however.

No,, but there is a little to it, if you spend alot of time in the game, you won't have time to do your homework... and if you do your homework you won't have time to play the game so much...

Sir,

Your argument is well-spoken, but I must respectfully disagree. While intelligence and statistics may have some correlation, there is insufficent evidence with the exception of isolated anecdotes.

I propose that we use the scientific method to reach a conclusion that everyone can agree upon. That way, there can be no doubt, and there never needs to be any dispute over the smartness/stats dilemma ever again.

statistics:

percentage of people capable of making intelligent posts increases along with age.
percentage of people capable of dedicating time to or effort to learning to play decreases with age from early/mid-twenties

But increases again when you settle down and start a family.

I'm happy with my 20k.

Even if your theory was true, which it aint.

I'd rather be smart than good at a game.

What if it is the game of Life?!?!? Look at Tesla, too. That SOB was smart and he got owned by Life when he could've been an ubermillionaire.

I have decent stats, and I attempt to make smart or witty posts and usually fail with glory.

What does THAT say?

I have an IQ of 145, and my stats aren't that bad, so speak for yourself.  i don't play 120 hours a week, but thats because I have better things to do with my time, and i dont stat pad, I play for fun.

I'm smart, but BF2 causes issues with my computer and I'm too easily distracted from it, hence I haven't played in ages.
Soon to change when I can get a few days off in a row, apply the lessons learned in GTA to my control scheme, and get some time without distractions in order to focus.

Meh, I am smart in my own ways. I am also a good Gamer. My stats are... Well, I don't know, not many people have commented on them for me to know whether thye are good or bad. I hardly ever look at other peoples stats to compare mine too. Saying that, I can't remember the last time I looked at mine...
