I have a hard time seeing there will ever be peace between Israel and Palestine, to much religion, to many sacred places, to many common and adjacent holy places, to many fanatics on both sides!

Yasser and his cunt wife are sad sacks of shit! Fuck her and her 100k allowance!

Where are the demands?? Exactly! 100k in Palestine could help A TON of poor people!

But its "no blood for oil, Israel's fault, Bush is an asshole, Halliburton" argument that will arise, if we keep blasting Arafat. . . without any sensible retort to that outstanding question!

He may be dead, but his bank account is alive and well. . . .

So, Israel is NOT going to be wiped off the face of the planet.

Wouldn't your efforts be better focused on getting the billions back?
That is doable and would give immediate comfort to the Palestinian people.

There is an interesting documentary from PBS called "The 50 Years War."  It seems to dispute a lot of what you all are saying.  Regardless...

Neither side is innocent, to say the least, but I tend to side with Israel simply because every time they make a concession, the Palestinians seem to beat them with it.

Every time I hear about rockets being launched from Gaza into Israel I laugh a sad laugh.  I would argue the exact opposite of Serge and suggest that if Israel stopped fighting they would be wiped off the map.  However, if Palestine stopped fighting, there would be peace.

I am having a hard time remembering a conflict that Israel clearly instigated (with the possible exception the creation of Israel in the first place).

While Israel is heavy handed, they are not the only people in the Middle East that are such.  Is stoning a woman for adultery heavy-handed?  I think so.  I don't believe in stoning for adultery, or killing 50 people in retaliation for a kidnapped soldier, but they are both ways of discouraging unwanted behavior.  That certainly isn't an excuse, but it is a reason.

That would be the logical way to proceed wouldnt it??

Yet no one in the liberal media speaks of this vast wealth that should be "redistributed" amongst the very population he "fought" for so many years. . . .

that guy died with MILLIONS in the bank. . . his cunt wife is living it up in Paris!! What a bunch of bullshit!

ATG is partially right in the OP - the Palestinians have helped create this situation.

However, I do believe that there are so many players involved at this point that it's not just an Israeli/Palestinian problem.  And unfortunately some of those players who support Palestine's fight also do not hesitate to trade Palestinian lives for issues beyond what the Palestinians are fighting for.

According to Palestine, "peace" is just another 5 minute window to launch rocket attacks at civilians.

I have the solution! well not really but I'll give it a shot.
When Castro dies we could "nationalize" Cuba like Hugo Chavez did to our oil company's then turn the whole island into mega resorts! Then of course any Cuban could move from Cuba to the u.s. freely. Also they would all be given stock in the resorts fairly distributed among the people.
Then we copy all of the holy historic sites in Israel down to the bug & grain of sand & put that in the middle of Cuba.
Then we move all the Jews & all their stuff too Cuba to take over the resorts & run them with healthy stock options, of course they too could come to America if they wanted just like anyone else.
I bet the Jews & the Cubans would get along on an island & most likely love would be in the air. We could get the pope to come & bless the union of the two people & speak in some tongues to confirm it & maybe write another speech denouncing the virtues of capitalism for raising the standard of living in the world.
Then every American could then support this holy union by buying a time share in one of the fabulous resorts & get a free Cuban cigar if one of the first 10000 to order!

Of course I'm kidding as this would be a gross violation of rights for both nations but what can we do?         We need constructive ideas that might help get the ball rolling.
Are we all agreed on someone needs to move? We know the Palestinians aren't going anywhere, where would they go? We know Israel doesn't want to go anywhere after finally establishing a home where would they go?
I heard of an artificial island for sale a while back, if we can make more land then we need too as the peace talks between these two only lead to tension & eventually violence on both sides.
But who would be willing to leave the land given that it's Holy only complicating things further, thanks religion.
Would Israel be willing to move again as they have all through history once again cast out of the garden of Eden?
What would it take to move a whole nation & get everyone to accept it. It sounds almost as impossible as finding a solution to the problem.
So we have two sides arguing over the same property rights without which there can be no true freedom.       Both lay claim to the land by right & by faith, this is a difficult problem indeed as the normal solution would be to have a trial to determine who's property it was but the faith aspect cannot be argued because it doesn't deal with reason. When dealing with irrational ideas from both sides how is it possible to come to a reasonable conclusion?
So what proof do the two governments have that the land is theirs if either? How about the British Mandate of Palestine? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Ma … _Palestine  which lead to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Declaratio … _of_Israel
So it was Britain's to give by decree of the UN?
It looks like the land dispute is over as they {Palestinians} didn't own the land.
So if Israel has property rights rightfully and the Palestinians do not recognize that right they are violating the Israels rights & breaking the law instead of working with their human brothers to better the region.
Perhaps the Arab brothers should step up & carve out a state for the Palestinians if they are so concerned for their welfare, I'm sure the UN would be receptive.
I like this part of the declaration:
The new state pledged that it will take steps to bring about the economic union of the whole of Eretz-Israel and appealed:
in the very midst of the onslaught launched against us now for months - to the Arab inhabitants of the State of Israel to preserve peace and participate in the upbuilding of the State on the basis of full and equal citizenship and due representation in all its provisional and permanent institutions. We extend our hand to all neighbouring states and their peoples in an offer of peace and good neighbourliness, and appeal to them to establish bonds of cooperation and mutual help with the sovereign Jewish people settled in its own land. The State of Israel is prepared to do its share in a common effort for the advancement of the entire Middle East.

Does anyone else have solutions, ideas or suggestions?

What I would really like to know is WHY the U.S keeps funding Israel with the weapons and munitions. Does the U.S feel they need to support them no matter what the repercussions? Does the U.S feel they MUST have at least one ally in the Middle East so is this why the U.S continues to back Israel?

It was said earlier that the Muslims attack and target the U.S specifically because we back Israel, so are these attacks worth supporting Israel?

There's very little anti-semitism compared to the rampant anti-islam sentiments here. Fadedsteve, you often say there's a lot of jew hating on this forum, please provided posts where you feel this is the case as opposed to baseless accusations.

EDIT: "Jew hating liberals" is a fairly creative insult though.

There is a cause and effect SanIaya.

Where are the reports of random acts of senseless violence with large numbers of civilian casualties that Israel is responsible for (  the OT excluded ).

Lebanon? Palestinian displacement? Bulldozing homes? Just because they are perpetrated by a military doesn't make them any less violent.
