I don't question the Big Bang, but I wonder what made IT. There was that small tightly packed bit of matter that suddenly exploded and made a bunch of other stuff. Fair enough. But what made that tightly packed bit of matter?!

And to the creationists: What made God?!

Current thinking is:
- It just happened.
- We don't know yet.
- A previous universe imploding in a Big Crunch.
- God.
- Yo momma.

Read up on string theory and it will all be revealed

No it won't. String theory hasn't even been justified yet, let alone proven or finished.

The big bang is a mystery to everyone.
And by everyone, I mean me.

I made God.
And by made, I mean me.

on all seriousnesses, according to the scientific community

The universe is all one big cycle, it EXPLODES from the "Big Bang" and then slams back into itself creating the "Big Crunch"

Space is curved, like a ball, and the universe is like a drop of water, the drop of water hits the ball, splits into multiple pieces, comes back to a center point, creates a drop again, and then falls onto another ball...

Unfortunately science leaves another gap for religion, so even though it may defeat it can open up for other religions to lay claim for things still unexplained. Basically, its always been, and always will be.

thats a brief explination, any questions?

Nobody knows what caused the big bang, or even if there was an actual big bang (it may have been re-inflation). Some say and infintely small but infinitely massive singularity exploded. Some say two branes touched and that set off our universe. If you read "The Elegant UNiverse" by Brian Greene, it mentions how the big bang would have probably worked assuming string theory is correct.

In the mean time, go here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Bang#S … e_Big_Bang

Haven't read the book, but watched the NOVA series on The Elegant Universe. It's a pretty damn good explanation of stuff I normally would never have understood without lots and lots of studying.
