I was playing tonight on SF: =rTr= 24/7 Iron Gator party and twice I CTD while trying to pick up a different kit.  I noticed the second time it happened that Windows Update was waiting to download new updates, so I ran it and rejoined for the second time and everything worked fine after that.  It must have had something to do with Windows Update, because that was the only change I made.  I am running 1.41 (obviously).

Any one else experience this?

No its not anything to do with Windows Update. I have a 'special' version of Windows and it can't be updated anymore... *cough*

The pc I run bf2 on has a full retail version of XP running sp2.  But the updates it was waiting on were simply the monthly malicious software tool and a cumulative update for IE 6.  I'm guessing you have experienced the same crash when trying to switch kits? 

I have an evaluation version of XP also, it's a full gold release, dev. version from msdn.  It's great cause I can install it as many times as I want, just can't update to sp2.

BF2 has been crashing for as long as I can remember from the switch/pickup kit.
