Has anyone tried replacing the stock sounds with this new one?
I'm still waiting for a link to download it lol.

none of the posted links worked
Click on the Original hosting then right click on the player, select properties and copy & paste the file location into your URL thats how i did it xD
Would work if I had Quicktime Pro, but I have Basic I think.A mere Shadow|= wrote:

What you actually mean though for those who didn't get you is...you right click on the player in your browser, click properties, copy & paste the file location into windows media player in open url. Once its playing you can save the file.
I've NOT confirmed that this will get past Punkbuster. i
it SHOULD though as its not a required part of the program.
To put this in place of the normal loading tune for USMC vs MEC maps:
THIS IS IMPORTANT!!!!!
1) copy your C:/Program Files/EA Games/Battlefield 2/mods/bf2/Common_Client.zip to another location outside the EA Games folder (Desktop?)
2) download the load_MEC_music.ogg file from the link.
3) Unzip the contents of your Common_Client.zip (NOT the backup one!)
4) in the unzipped files go to "Sound/Menu/music" folder and delete the "load_MEC_music.ogg" file you find there
5) put the downloaded "load_MEC_music.ogg" file in its place.
6) zip everything back up, name it "Common_Client.zip" and put it in the bf2 folder again
7) Load bf2... Load Karkand.. And voila!
LSD_Wash's BF2 Redux is now your loading tune

I don't know how EA has it set up for recognizing file's but it certainly isn't the name. I tried to change the loading music numerous times and got it to work on single player but PB and the "Verifying Client Data" WILL catch it. I tired to replace the file with the one I had backed up and it would not take. I tried for almost 2 hours before giving up and re-installing.
Leave it alone!
and if you fucking read the first fucking line of what i fucking wrote CORRECTLYCougar wrote:

Just a quick note, you don't need to go through the trouble of pasting the source URL into WMP. I'm not certain if it's a new feature, or whether everyone didn't see it, but when you follow the original PutFile link, under where the media is playing, there are details about the file.
As I have illustrated above.
Once you click the link, you'll have to go through the process of clicking "NEXT PAGE" as instructed. Do this until the download link shows on the page (link shows on page 20).
Be sure to right-click and select "Save Target As..." in order to download the mp3 file to your hard drive.
I hope this is helpful.

Don't try putting it in your game. Won't work. Read prev. posts to find out why.
