Without him there'd be no peace in Ireland. You should be grateful.CameronPoe wrote:

I wouldn't exactly give Saint Tony that much praise but I'll admit he was a heck of a lot better than Thatcher and the Tories and the North as a whole was able to make great strides with him in No. 10RicardoBlanco wrote:

I agree with that. The MAJOR problem was that he did go to war. That is what made people instantly change their minds about him.IG-Calibre wrote:
Aye - in last ten years here all I see is new Schools / hospitals / civic buildings / public leisure facilities / new business opening, housing & infrastructure being built - Thatcher & Major? gave us fuck all! except increased the lot of the Rich, and mass unemployment in the UK, while destroying the NHS - not to mention the slaughter & bloodshed on our streets, all Stopped by Tony Blair, he has secured the Rights and liberties for all peoples on these islands, not to mention forged ahead with reform of the house of Lords, devolved power, introduced a fair minimum wage - as the tories screamed it would destroy the nation, etc etc.
Why he chose to align himself with such ardent right winged nuts jobs like Bush and Berlusconi will be a mystery for me, shame the fuck up he made with Iraq - other than that I think he tried his best to clear up the last fucking mess the Tories left the country in. Good luck to him I say.
More or less what I was gona write. Good ridance you smiling fucker.CameronPoe wrote:

One thing I should add is that I hate virtually everything Tony Bliar stands for. The whole new Labour thing is just a load of spin and bureaucratic rhetoric in overwhelming doses. I don't like any of that.
But despite what I think of all that, he does seem to have done a fairly decent job. It all just went wrong when he got near the end of his time in office and started thinking about his legacy.
