Although i agree that the points should be higher I dont quite agree with this layout, 80,000 to get 2nd Lt is fine but then I have to double my score to rank up again? but a captain only has to get another 50, 000 points to get promoted? wrong Idea here , the upper ranks should be harder to get not easier or everyone will be a general before long.

I very much agree with having to be a more well rounded player to get the upper ranks, you should have at least Veteran command for any officer rank and some kind of minumum time as squad member and squad leader. I also think you should have some awards like Navy Cross Golden cimitar and Peoples medalion to hold upper ranks. I think we are on the right track to keep the game interesting and fun.

We have a genius here. When did you say anything about points? You said its impossible to cheat to 100 hours. lets see... how many points are in 100 hours??? WAIT! That makes no sense! Either way you are an idiot, you can gain points by idling as commander as your score is an average of your team. So yes, you can cheat your way to 100 for a kit by idling AND gain points for being commander. Even double them if your team makes up for it. Learn to think before posting... or doing anything, dude.

Use points to Capt. Rank. All ranks over Capt should be time spent before promo
Eg. 250K points to Captain
Promo to Major - 500hrs as capt
promo to Lt Col 1500 hrs as Maj must have Marksman Medal
Promo to Col - 2500 hrs as Lt Col must have Sharpshooter Medal
etc etc
If you dont have the medal you dont advance

the "required" criteria for the ranks of :

1st lt. - Combat Infantry Medal + 150 total hrs as commander + 150 total hrs as squad leader

captain - [advanced rank] 1st lt + 200 total time as commander & squad leader + 1 "service" medal (navy cross, golden Scimitar, ppl medallion)

major - 300 total time as commander + 2 X Distinguished service medal.

Lt. colonel -[advanced rank] major + medal of valor + 10,000 Driver score + 1 vehicle medal (aviator, helicopter, armor)

colonel - 50,000 combat score + 2 X combat action medal + 275 total time as squad leader & member.

Brig Gen. -[advanced rank] colonel + ALL service medals + 2 vehicle medals.

Maj. Gen. - 350 total time played as commander, squad leader & member + 2 X medal of valor + ALL vehicle medals.

Lt. Gen - [advanced rank] ALL prior advanced ranks + sharpshooter medal.

4 stars general - everything expert + ALL medals ( within : 4 distinguished service medals + 4 meritorious medass + 3 medals of valor.

from what I hear, the 2nd lieutenant rank will never be lowered and that the new officer ranks will be for the 200+ club. haven't heard anything about new ranks between officer ranks and lower ones, but i wouldn't be surprised if they put in one, say at 100K.

Don't you think there should be ranks for a "middle ground" player as well? I mean, I will play BF2 as long as there are servers, but I have to go to college/work. I don't want to be a SgtMaj forever... I don't see myself getting any more than 200,000 points ever. But I would like to rank up at least a few more times. But, I do agree that there should be ranks for the totally deticated players. I just hope they don't forget about the midle guys, like me, and put a few ranks between now and 200k.

I think they shoudld make it so that to get a higher rank you should have to spend a certain amount of time fighting for each country, or in each theatre, so you cant just Karkand it up 24\7

well put you guys deserve some new ranks to play with but what about those thousands of people between 50K and 200K? I think there should be at least one rank in between. Not too many because that would lower the prestiege of 2nd lieutenant but at least something to entertain people in between.

I just cant wait for the new ranks, will freshen up the game a bit & give the no life people something to do.
As it is I can only gain around 1000 points per week as I only have sundays to play, so with all the bonus packs & expansions this will be my shooter for atleast a couple years till they put out bf3

^ Pubic that is a good idea. But by the time there at that there wins and losses will be something like this 10,590 Wins-11,732 Losses. See how that would be hard to turn into a a 3:1 ratio quickly. But it is a good idea. I'm ver excited to see what happens with the ranks.
