I am surprised by the results of the poll too. Under special circumstances I do shoot the enemy while there is a knife fight. If the two guys are doing their knife-fight dance in my line of fire AND I can not shoot other players because of it....I WILL shoot the enemyts-pulsar wrote:

The other circumstance is the 5 second rule - the knife fight better be over in 5 seconds or it is fair game in my book LOL

I think it depends on the situation, I can't really tell. I suppose on an FF ON server, I'd be too afraid to shoot the teammate first and therefore wait for the result of that knife-fight.
Personally, I don't knife-fight anyways. Knife's a last resort when rifle and pistol have been emptied or when I just got revived and see certain kinds of nubs (you know who you are) rushing me or, of course, a short range sneaky killer when no shock paddles are available.

Let them fight it out if enemy wins shoot the enemy and then revive your friend. EASY POINTS!!!
normally i watch my teammatesback and let him get his knife kill. if the enemy wins, i end it quickly and shoot him, if one of them was a medic, i take his kit and revive my teammate. no time for knife fighting, because maybe you can save a live by shooting the enemy and reviving your buddy...
Unfortunately I always run into the situation where 1 wants to knife, but has a cpl buddies near him who will shoot me on sight, so I have no choice but to take em all on with my knife.
ill try to shoot the enemy, hit my teammate in the head instead, run out of ammo and get knifed
I let them knife and if the guy knifes my teammate, I'll shoot him.
For me it involves C4, 1 teamkill and 1 kill.

I've never actually come across two people knifing it up. Its usually me thats knifing with someone when an enemy comes in and shoots me, or a teammate shoots the other guy.
One time though the enemy stood and watched, and one time, the enemy got his knife out and joined in. Needless to say i lost. However, if i ever come across a knife fight i reckon i'd get my knife out and join in.

I used to be big on the honor of knife fighting. Every time I saw someone coming at me with a melee weapon on Day of Defeat, I'd pull mine out. Even if it meant certain death due to draw time.
On bf2 I'll respect two knife fighters, and I'll usually knife fight with the enemy if he wins. I usually try to knife fight when someone comes at me with one. But not always.
That's because half of the time they see that you're on to 'em, they pull their gun, or one of their asshole teammates shoot you.

Once on Sharqi I came upon two guys having a knife fight and I politely waited nearby for them to be done. Before they were done, one of the knife-fighters pulled out his gun and shot me. Never again.
well, normally found sniper vs other than sniper :p, anyway...
