Well hes a moron obviously, I love the AK's and they will never die.
He says chuck them because the PLA no longer uses them. It's a good idea - to be honest, the PLA army isn't just "RAGH CONSCRIPT CHARGE!!!11" it's a fairly well trained and equipped entity (in the battles fought in Bf2 it should be, anyway) so an AK47 would not be used in frontline Chinese forces.

U will still struggle to find a more reliable, more easily maintainable automatic rifle in world, with guaranteed stopping power, than an AK-74.
I would happily challenge anyone who says that the modern rifles coming out, such as the M4, G36 family, Steyr, are more reliable than the AK series - they may be able to have more fancy accessories, however, i doubt that they could stand up to the continued abuse that an AK can, and still fire.
Furthermore, they are far easier to field strip and clean than other more "plasticy" rifles... plus they are super easy to operate... one click down for full auto, two clicks down for semi on the safety catch...

My father build AK´s in a factory in the former German Democratic Republic (my birth-country) for Russia.

FN FAL. The FN FAL is one of the most reliable, powerful, and easily mantainable weapons in the world.
Still though, the Chinese don't use it, which is exactly the point. Toss the AK, cos the Chinese don't use it. He's not saying it because it's a bad weapon.

Im a reserviest in the Irish Army(Bagger for any PDF!!) and when I first joined we still had the FN.
It was great! Fired 7.62 and felt like a real gun! It had it faults like a limited clip and was a bit
bulky for urban fighting, but if you hit a guy with it you knew he was staying down! And I taught it
looked cool, black steal with the wooden stook and it only had 7 parts(Sry if im wrong, been a while)
Now we have Steyr's which are cool, but are made of plastic and only fire 5.56, does'nt feel as good when firing, at least its light im a lazy bastard!!
So in conclusion the FN is great!

AK-74 , AK-103 , AK-101 , RPK-74 , Bizon , and last but not least the Abakan 94 - ALL moder weapons under the origional AK design . Besides the PLA without a dout still uses the AK . They have a few M-4's and M-16a2's but they definitely don't stry from AK's .TROUSERS wrote:

I know they use the AK and the AN platform but I wouldn't see their frontline military units using AK-47s.
