i reckon you should be ok, you've got a pretty good processor and a gig of DDr2 ram also - that's a very good price karma ... i may have to think about getting one when i start 6th form .... ... maybe a bit cheaper

i've got a similar one, dv9072, the specs are different but apart from that i think they're identical. i'm very pleased with mine, looks good, lots of nice features and a surprisingly good battery time

i wouldnt trip about min requirements. when i first started playing this game i had 512 and an fx5200! definitely NOT min specs but i played none the less.

Desktop PC (different from laptop but it will give an idea) :

AMD Athlon 3800+
7600 GT 256mb
2 gigs = BF2 Maxed out (1 gig = medium, it started laggin on my pc, because I had too much backgroun crap running so it started using virtual memory..not good )

Zero!. - im impresed by the 2GB ram, but only 15" screen and worse GFX... id prefer to get the HP (17" + 7600) then upgrade RAM later. Ty anyways

RDMC(2) - Yeh i appreciate the 7600 GO, will not be as powerfull as regular 7600, but for a lappy i rekon its pretty good. Im hoping for Med with no effects, and the add a Gb RAM later

You can get a pretty good deal with Dell Coupons. Dunno if there are any for the UK, but if there are, you can maybe configure a 17", Core 2 Duo, 7900GS 256mb laptop for a decent price.

According to google, 700 pounds is rougly 1400 USD. Using a -$500 Dell Coupon, I can configure a 2.00Ghz Core 2 Duo, 2G DDR2 667Mhz, 120G 5400RPM HD, 7900GS 256MB, for $1153 (Excluding peripherals like speakers/mouse/bag/etc.). Of course, prices can vary, but I think it's worth checking out to see if you can get a nice deal for a nice laptop (excluding all those complaints about bloatware).

Yes, Dell probably isn't the best Desktop manufacturer ever, but the Inspiron 1705 (based on some reviews/Dunno the model number for non-US) seems to be recommended for its relatively cheap price for a great Graphics card.

I just bought a DV9233 and I'm very happy with it. It plays battlefield just fine. The 7600 card is excellent. It's dedicated memory by the way. Not shared like somebody mentioned earlier. The 7600 is superior to the cards mentioned on the machines on the pcworld website. I'm not sure why Zero! thinks they are better machines. The 7300 is a slower chipset than the 7600 and we're not even going to bring the Intel graphics chips into the discussion - they should be banished to another plane.

And, if you remove Vista and put your old XP on it, you probably don't even need that extra 1 GB RAM upgrade.
