I think both networks are bias, but CNN tries to claim they are a legitimate global source of news!! FOX knows what audience they draw, and cater to it. . . .They say "Fair and Balanced" which is true, they have liberals on their shows all the time that allow them to spill their garbage to no avail. . . .

I like CNN. They do cover quite a lot of news. And yes, it is apparent, at least with Jack Cafferty, that they have a liberal/left lean. Wolf is alright though, Situation Room and News Room are the only things I see on CNN anyways.
In general, I don't think CNN leans in any political direction, but they do seem rather incompetent and sensationalist at times. Why they and Headline News still give airtime to Nancy Grace is beyond me....
Lou Dobbs and Glenn Beck are much more insightful, even if they are obvious in their biases.

CNN is shit I agree but I think you may be looking into the blunder too much - it doesn't serve any political purpose so I don't think it was deliberate.
