the EA downloader is a piece of steaming donkey shit.
There. I said it.

I bought special forces online, and used the downloader to install. But when I moved to a different computer, I reinstalled BF2 and patched it to 1.2 before downloading special forces, and guess what? special forces will not install if the battlefield 2 version is 1.2. So i said screw it and went to go play some battlefield 2. 10 minutes into my first game it freezes my computer. Great. So I uninstalled bf2, reinstalled it, tried installing SF again. Guess what?

RTPatch Executable encountered a problem and needs to close. Patching failed. Absolutely fantastic. So not only do I need to repatch battlefield 2 and redo all my personal settings, I still don't have special forces installed.

So: to the EA programmers, please go stick a toilet brush up your rectum repeatedly. One of the hard spiky kinds, so you get the most tissue damage. Maybe dip it in some sort of cleaning solvent first.

And to the EA managers, HIRE BETTER programmers.

funny...

worked great for me. I fail to see how any of the problems you described above are the fault of the "EA downloader." The product EA puts out there is the same for everyone... the only variables in the equation  are the user and the hardware. hmmmmm....
