would you have moved on to a different game by now if it wasn't for stats?

yes or no?

btw is there any other game that has a rank/stats system, or are there any coming out?

and i dont mean 2142 or bf3.

I I'm not a gamer but got talked into buying BF2 and I've had fun playing ever since. I could care less about virtual medals or stats.

The only other game I know of that's coming out with a stats/rank system is Quake Wars.

i dno. I probably wouldve stayed. I played 1942 from its release to about when BF2 came out. I did play other games but 1942 was just so solid. Its not the stats, its the gameplay.

If bf2 didn't have the badges then i would have probably got bored long before i did.  I lasted just over a year before i decided to take a long term break which is the longest I've consistently played a game.

Yes.

The gameplay is fun and all, but I would not have committed had there not been a stats system.

I was determined to stick it out and play hardcore until I got all the unlocks, and I did. Now, I just play casually.

I would have never started playing. I personally think bf2 would be nothing without stats

I would have moved on a long time ago.

The stats system makes you set goals and want to play more. Although this makes it more addicting it also makes it more fun.

Also if there was no stats system you will have a hard time finding someone to repair you, give you ammo or revive you.

No, especially with mods such as Project Reality... the stats are nice but not the only reason I play BF2.

Stats are cool but winning a close match is what its all about for me. Its like playing madden for ps2 doing a franchise is cool but I would still play if it didnt have franchise mode.

I probably wouldn't have moved on. I don't play many games on the PC, and I do take frequent breaks from BF2. But the stats are definitely going to give this game a long life for me. But I'm happy for them because it gives it long life for other people too, so there will always be games and servers for a long time.

Yeh, good question, i would have moved on ages ago, but i like to set myself goals, plus the sound of the drum roll and watching a pop-up saying that "you have been awarded the such and such" is cool aswell

at first it was for fun (i didnt know it had stats)

Not really, but the stats sure made me play more since you can track things like wins, BRS, KDR etc.

Since the awards are tied to the stats they're included really and working towards badges and medals sure gives one an incentive.

Well, I only play bf2 now because of the competative side of it and that I have to for my team.. If it wasn't for that I wouldn't.

No. Currently, there's simply no better game than BF2 for me.

50:50. I like stats, you can track your progress, see how well your doing and aim for awards etc. It brings a huge negative impact of players to the game though. Wouldn't quit though BF2 has unique gameplay.
