Ok, I have 2 gigs right now. Should i make the jump to 3 or invest the money somewhere else.

Specs are: 7600GS, 2 gigs of ram, some random processer (I think its 2.80 GHz dual core, thats what Xfire says)

Good advice gets a big slapping heap of karma

I don't think you realistically need more than 2gb in my opinion.
You could invest in an intel core 2 duo processor.

3? I'd just get 4. And yes, a new CPU upgrade to the Core 2 Duo line would be much more beneficial. With this in mind, you'll need a new motherboard and RAM though!

You don't necessarily need new memory if you get a new processor.

Upgrade the GPU. It sounds like your CPU isn't too bad, and 2 GB ram is fine.

if you can get higher than 2gb you can rid of some pagefile, but that's about it. and or you can run multiple games at a time but yea, who plays 4 games at the same time >_>?

The more RAM you have, the more caching you have.

No games for the moment will utilize more than 2GB of RAM. Therefore, you have a lot of wasted RAM that is just being cached, which takes time. Every time your system needs a file it has to scan all 4GB of RAM to see if it's there...if not, it has to get it from the hard-drive. The more RAM you have, the longer this takes.

If you have Vista, 4GB is worth it. If not, it's a waste of money because you most likely will never use that much RAM.

Yes you do. C2D is DDR2, whereas all previous processors were DDR.

Do you have vista? If so in my opinion I think you should wait untill dx10 cards come out if you are thinking of investing a lot of money into a new GPU. If you have enough money I would also get a new CPU and a GPU when the dx10 cards are released and become a bit cheaper.
