i got a mate of mine who is having troubles with his bf2 and pb

basically he keeps getting kicked like every 2 mins via pb for

lost key packets, not responding to queries, violation of something

i said its just vista but he never had a problem for like a few months its only recent

was wanting to know if anyone with vista here had the same problem?

update your pb and turn off your firewall
that's what i do to play bf2 and 2142
just remember to turn it back on afterwards

are u useing McAfee?

The OS thing is fixed rather easily, right click on the icon, BF2 or 2142 and go to properties. Make sure its running as administrator in there.

he doesnt have mcaffee and ye is running as an administrator

and he obviously isnt get key packets if hes being kicked for it

i can assure u its not vista, i think the problem is that he hasnt updated his punkbuster client, so go to pb website and download the updater and try that

hes done that 5 times

he has also reinstalled pb and bf2 repatched everything

i think its the vista fix that microsft just released

hmm. Cant think of anyreason for this. It is not the results of a vista fix in my opinion because I have Vista Premium and it is fully updating and my bf2 works fine. Try getting a friend to send you their bf2 Punkbuster folder. C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\pb
and then replace yours with theirs.

I WARN YOU THOUGH. PLEASE ASK SOMEONE ELSE WHO KNOWS A LOT MORE ABOUT THIS. DO NOT CARRY THIS OUT WITHOUT ASKING SOMEONE ELSE WEATHER THIS WILL MAKE IT WORSE

Also if this causes more issues please do not blame me. I am only suggesting this as this is the only other thing I can think you doing if you are 100% sure you have unistalled/reinstalled bf2 & Updated PB.

i did and it was my modems soo try unpluging everything wait 15sec and then plug them back in
