The goatse monitor or the non goatse monitor?

Or do I get a widescreen monitor? Such as this?

The first two (which are the same with the exception of the gaping hole) have excellent reviews so I would get them based on that. However I can' t decide whether I'd be better off with a widescreen.

I'd say the wide screen. But out of the first two definately the 'non goatse monitor' imo. I assume the monitor is primarily for gaming?

Yup. But having decent colour is also pretty important, so I don't want to get the widescreen if the picture quality isn't up to scratch. It'd be nice if it doesn't ghost as well.

or you can get the 65inch shar aquos tv, which has hdmi ports and buy a dvi-hdmi cable and play games in full 1080p resolution , thats what i got

I have an AG Neovo 19" widescreen. The widescreen is really helpful huge difference; you can fit some much more on!

I recommend you go for a widescreen!

22" wide lcds are goin cheap...i got my dell for 300 USD and theres a samsung 22" wide that is sellin like hotcakes for 300 as well...

Poor viewing angles + 6 bit color with dithering -- definitely not recommended if you do any photoshop work.

Most cheap 20-22 inch monitors these days have TN panels. I know that the Dell Ultrasharps do not.
