BF2S Forums Game Help

I was hoping that someone could help me remember the name of a game so that I might look it up.  I was at a friends house a while ago and he told me about this game that let you control an entire species from the point of its beginning (a single cell), through its evolution, and to its ultimate demise.  I've never really been one for strategy games but this one sounded really good and even though I was quite excited about playing such a game, I completely forgot the name of the game that he described to me.  I know my description wasn't the greatest, but thats all I remember.  If anyone has any idea what game my he was talking about, please share.  Thanks for any help!
