oaky, firefox screwed itself over when i tried to some stuff heh. it failed! anyway, i've got firefox back to the way i like it, except for one thing. the bottom status bar still exists and i have no idea how to remove it. i've googled without success

you can remove it via the screen option > status bar

where Help/Extra and the lot is

I have a "Beeld" (dutch) English: Screen option then I can select Status Bar on/off
