The other day I was commanding and my team was whipping the other team's butt. We had all the flags and any time one would go neutral one squad or another would immediately go there to stop them. I kept telling my team how happy I was to work with them since it's rare that people actually play as a team. Well then all of the sudden I kept getting mutinied by a couple of noobs. WTF!? I asked them why they're mutinying me and they said it's because I wasn't giving their squad orders! I hardly ever give out orders to a squad unless I see or know something they don't, but I usually just use the chat anyway. And besides, my team knew what they were doing, so giving orders was completely unnecessary. But this little bunch of idiots kept saying that it's the commander's duty to give out orders regardless. Well my order to them was to shut the fuck up and not question the commander.

Of course, the mutinies never succeeded, but it still pisses me off when that happens. If I'm doing a bad job I'm fine with a mutiny, but when our team is kicking butt and I'm the head of it all, it's really offensive.

Right before the games lay arty on their position and then log off. Oh you may want to warn them they are getting what they deserve on the game chat.  Let them wonder what you mean by that and watch as the arty strikes their little attitudes down.

Heh, I always give orders as Squad Leader (using the map). I've had a few times where the commander would actually redo the exact same order 5-10 secs after I issued it myself. You're more useful spotting enemies than giving us orders that are pretty obvious.

I found on a few occcasions if we are kicking ass, some of the players with high scores simply want a mutiny so they can double their own scores with out having to actually do any commanding at all.

I don't think that works.  I was playing on Mashtur and after about 3/4 of the round was over I decided to jump in as commander.  I don't think we won the round but I ended up with like 8 points on a 20+ kill round.
I hardly got any command points since I didn't command for very long.  If I would have resigned as commander before the round ended I would have had at least 60 points

What I hate is when you become commander and start seeing mutiny votes as soon as you spawn the first time.  Hell, at least give the commander a chance for his assets to load before you try to mutiny him.

I don't worry about mutiny votes, just like kick votes, I haven't seen one pass the whole time I've been playing BF2.

It's even funnier when you see that your team wants to kick you out as commander so you resign, like cutting your nose off to spite your face really, then they are complaining for the rest of the round that they don't have a commander or wonder why no one wants to be commander.

Yeah! Every time someone mutinies me I tell them they better do the job because I don't wanna play on a team without a commander. But usually no one fills in, so I wait a few and then I'm back in my position. And at least then people are grateful to have a commander.

Do the squads get any teamwork point for completing the tasks assigned by the commander? I dont know cause I never really paid that much attention to it, but if so, that would explain why they wanted you to give some orders.

I believe that's only the case in BF2142. I got extra points for shooting people near the target given by the commander.

I pretty much agree with this but have a question.   I issue obvious orders to a squad like "Advance to this position" even though they may already be going there or may have already issued it to their squad.  I do this because I see that the way is clear and want them to rush the target.  What should be the "correct" way to tell a squad it's clear for them to make a run for their target without them thinking you are lame for issueing obvious commands?  This occurs when UAV is elsewhere and I have scanned the target area.   I'm also talking non-VOIP map commands.

If you have a good team you don't have to tell them shit, just back them up where you can.

I just tell them to put demolitions in the far corners of the map (which are in the red stripe zones)

If you've got a good team, the noobs will mutiny to try and get the spot so they can get free points, since they'd just get the purple heart medal if they actually fought.

Funny sometimes you will get one player that sits there in the same spot (away from the flags and action like they are hiding) they don't move at all and then they mutiny you.....

I never give orders, as commander or squad leader unless people ask, I annoys me when I'm in a gunfight and then some fucking icon comes up saying attack this position. I assume everyone knows the goal of the game and I just supply them with cars, uav, spots, supply boxes and the odd couple of "good work squad!"

This is true ... but a good team with commander backup will always loose to a good commander with team backup.

Kinda tough to surprise em that way friend, as soon as you direct arty, it shows all the friendlies exactly where it's going to hit on their HUDs.

Honestly, though, has that ever stopped nubs from running straight into an arty strike?

LOL Certainly not, but Nubs are not usually the ones starting Mutinies, and that was posed to be the target.

Sometimes i start a mutiny on a commander that does absoluty nothing, not even UAV; in rare occasions it actually wakes them up and they start commanding (UAV, orders , etc)
But there is always one soldier that feels neglected if you play on big servers (64 players), and thats inevitable. The squadleader complaining about no orders should have asked for via the SQ-commo-rose option, if he did not : not a reason to start a mutiny, unless you ignored him.

i generally just tell noobs that want to kick the commander to fuck of as he's doing a better job than you ever will.

I've managed to get an abusive bastard of an admin who spawnraped and broke all his own rules kicked from his own server with a kickvote before, that was fun.
