I was playing and I saw something that caught my eye.

It looks like he's aiming into a wall. Is this a glitch?

This player was NOT a commander and did NOT request supplies.

Can anyone tell me why he has the parachute icon above his name?

Map was Strike at Karkand IO. Server info available upon request.

It's where somehow, instead of a squad leader icon with the number, there's a cardrop request icon. It's just a glitch. It means nothing.

OK, so maybe it's a harmelss glitch.

The reason I said he didn't request a "Drop" was because I was on TS with our Commander.

I find it very hard to believe there are any glitches in an EA game. {/sarcasm off}

The Commander told me he didn't request anything but I didn't ask his SL.

He obviously also had his garage door keys on his keychain. Otherwise he wouldn't stand at the garage so despaired.

But seriously, I have seen such glitched icons before, when someone entered a para-dropped buggy and exited again or when someone was in a TOW placement and exited.

the 7th squad member icon, instead of a 7 with a circle around it, you get a parachute icon... it was "fixed" in patch 1.4, but i noticed the first day it was out that they didn't fix it

I've requested stuff as a squad member, and gotten it often... Ive never been asked to approve one as a squad leader, I always though that a squad members request went to the commander the same as a SL's would...

Does the SL need to pass the request on from the squad member by means of approving it first, or does the request just go straight to commander?

Only a squad leader can request thing such as car drops, artillery, and supplies.

It's a random glitch where the cartillery icon appears about random people, sometimes they don't even need to have requested a drop.
