shitsu!
It has nothing to do with worrying about being sued. If you watch the video, even when the degenerate drives off, noone rushes over to help the injured senior citizen. A bunch of fucking animals IMO.
I dont know guys. im pretty sure seeing a 91 year old man getting assaulted by someone my age would feel relatively the same as watching my young sister getting attacked by a large dog, which has happened before.
if you really care, when you see something like that you normally dont think about the dog biting you
...i know i didnt
boondocks saints: Now, we must all fear evil men. But there is another kind of evil which we must fear most, and that is the indifference of good men.

So you think even if they didn't step in during the attack, and nobody came over to help him afterwards, they do not deserve any criticism?Vernedead wrote:
no its an objective assessment of your opinions worth.
you lack knowledge of the incident, the mindset and responsibilities of the bystanders as well as your own psychological reaction to similar circumstances, therefore your assessment of the relative level of the bystanders courage and your own reaction to the same circumstance has no worth. for it to be slander i would had to have phrased it in such a manner as to suggest all your opinions are always worthless and to have done so in a manner that caused harm to your reputation. neither of which i did.
I hope you do not need similar help someday.
Exactly, I thought the same.Schwarzelungen wrote:

forgive me for not leaping to the assumptions that portray people in the worse possible light based on 20 seconds of edited video footage.usmarine2005 wrote:

i hope you are not required to perform jury duty some day.
I'm sorry, but tell me if this makes me a racist.
Ive noticed that black people are definitely more violent, and just like what fancy posted, is what mlk did, backfiring?
Last weekend we had the Valley of flowers, which is a pretty big carnival, and there was probably 2 fights and another kid that i just met this weekend, got hit in the face with a baseball bat by some black person.
While the next week we have a Parish picnic at my church(Basically a carnival), with almost just as many people, minus the black people, and guess what, no fights.
I'm not saying that I hate all black people, because I play basketball and I've got to know some of them and they're really kool, but it just seems to me that they have no respect for anyone they don't know.

that crap is screwed up
Ugh, you're both wrong.
Anyway, stop flaming each other and getting into personal debates. Debate the subject at hand or leave this thread entirely.

I read multiple stories and saw more than "20 seconds" on CNN and FOX. Why would the guy lie? He even said it is said that nobody helped him.Vernedead wrote:

You can't honestly compare a church outing with a public carnival.HURLEY wrote:

except for the hospital workers who treated him and the policemen who arrested his alleged attacker.usmarine2005 wrote:

So I guess if you saw a 20 second clip of a man molesting a child on the playground, and an interview with the child, plus a clip of the man being convicted and charged in court, you would not form an opinion eh?Vernedead wrote:

im in for execution. If someone does that something is wrong with them and he would probably do it again.
And yes, death is a solution.

would you be suprised if, when confronted with different situations, I react differently?
The man was charged and convicted. The old man said people just stood buy and watched. Why wouldn't I take that at face value?Vernedead wrote:

well for a start, as of 11.16 EDT today, he has merely been charged.usmarine2005 wrote:

also mabye because a man being punched in the face repeatedly isn't the best source on what everybody else is doing, its possible he was distracted.

When he was walking to his car before the attack, maybe he remembered seeing people around and that is what he was talking about. I beleive him. I have no reason not to.Vernedead wrote:

If that was happening in my home town I would have jumped in for sure. Worst thing I would come up against would be a knife. In the USA it would be very possible for him to have a gun so I can't blame the people standing by.
people nearby is not the same thing as people who watched and did nothing.
nice retraction of the "charged and convicted" though.

Ya, I was wrong on the convicted part.Vernedead wrote:

Would you have helped him?
because of rap.
Don't watch the news and don't listen to rap and You're good to go.

mabye, i've already said, I don't think you can judge untill its happened to you, i'd like to think i would, but i couldn't say for sure.
That's just the briliance of the anglo-american justice system which is based on cases rather then codified law.Snake wrote:

as to the OP, they probably didnt want to be sued by the robber or they were pussy's.
The entire system is totally fucked up.
In Germany I know that the law backs me up in this case so I can help without even thinking about such stupidity like being sued for helping.
Another thing: Maybe this people didn't help because they feared the probability of the robber having a gun. Also a typical American problem.
